You know maybe it would help if I just post last years hate crime stats here.



Not mentioned by the report, but also revealed by these statistics is the interesting fact that nearly every single hate crime motive by sexual orientation also had religion as a motive for the orientation discrimination. As a result, not only are Protestants responsible for the overwhelming majority of the religious hate crimes, but religious hate crimes actually constitute 38% of the hate crime motives because the discrimination against gays is overwhelmingly motivated by religion as well.

On an interesting side note, subsequent to these statistics being released congress decided to change the way hate crime data is compiled by the FBI, so far I still cant find any information on what guidelines were changed and why, but considerable issue has been made of the fact that nearly all religious hate crimes are committed by protestants when protestants of various denominations represent the majority of our elected officials.
