RE: Town or City for you?

I was born and lived my first four years in a suburb of Philadelphia, but my real hometown, where I grew up, was a rural town of about 5,000 in Central Pennsylvania.
I went to college nearby, in a town of almost the exact same size. I went to law school in a big city (500,000+) and had job offers to stay there, which I summarily declined; living in a city was very, very bad for my mental health, and I could not wait to get out of there. I'm in a town of about 40,000, which is right in the perfect size range for me.
I could see myself working in a town of between 10,000 and 100,000; towards the bigger end of that spectrum I'd live outside of town and commute. The job I'm in now is a 2-year appointment, with tomorrow marking 14 months, so I'm looking for a long-term gig at the moment. I'd say geography is the #1 factor in my decision.

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.
