So god setup some grow lights until it got around to creating the sun. Where did the electricity come from? Tongue
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things.

If God is all powerful, or even just extremely powerful, he could have created all this stuff just how he wanted it in an instant.

The fact that he draws it out suggests he is either rather less powerful, or he is trying to make a point in the narrative. The fact that the order things appear is screwed up shows that the point he is trying to make is an incorrect one.

There is no god, ergo, religion is a waste of time and effort. Religion is and has always been nothing more than a medium for control of the populace.

Perhaps God was originally just trying to grow some weed in his universe but his parents found out and took his heat lamp so he decided to go legit make a sun and grow some people and animals to fuck with instead...
Maybe in reality we are just the cover universe so god's mom won't find out about his hidden weed universe

There are plenty of good reasons for rejecting religion. Enough claims by the Bible are so ludicrous and impossible that one can easily reject them. The stories are nothing more than fantasy, with absolutely nothing backing them up. There's absolutely nothing irrational about that. The stories in the bible are nothing more than stories. There's no more reason to believe them, than there is to believe that the moon is made of cheese, that Harry Potter saved us from Lord Voldemort, or that there are tiny people running around in wheels powering our entire electrical system.

You forgot in your list, fish deciding to grow legs to come out of the sea, to eat and have sex. Some people will believe anything!

That would be fantastic.  I'm pretty well read, but I'm not aware of any cult that believes this.  Is this what they preach at your local church?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Roadrunner: None of us believe what you just said either. (Unless there are some crazy people I'm unaware of.) I'm hoping you are jesting and that your grasp of evolution is better than that.

No fair. With two or three theists this verbal assassination is not sufficiently lopsided. Please each open your own thread and make your feeble attempts to save our souls where we can give you each the attention you so richly deserve. Run along now.
