I don't understand, why do Christians not like Masturbation or porn

Such things tend to avoid the value of an ascetic life style which formulates a control against natural bodily functions. But do keep in mind that there are atheists who don't like masturbation or porn . . . I am one of them.

In England especially, I think we have a lot of repression left over from the Victorian era which doesn't help.

Of course if he's asexual and he means only for himself, that's fine. But if he disapproves of others, that's another matter.

Masturbation and porn aside, it certainly seems that many faith-heads (not only Christians) are hung up about all aspects of sex and reproduction. This has done massive harm and constantly causes unhappiness and guilt. I often wonder what's at the root of it.

Utah, the most religiously conservative state has the highest porn consumption. So Christians do like wanking it and porn. They just hide it.

Everyone else has already stated it and the data is irrefutable. Masturbation and porn is just as prevalent (maybe even more so) in Christian circles as non-Christian. Biological urges win most of the time, and the guilt shaming in the church only increases the curiosity. Preach one thing, do another, that's the biggest problem with the church, the hypocrisy. Everyone feels they need to project this picture of perfection and hide all their struggles and it gets to the point they don't even know who they really are anymore. Be real, surround yourself with those that accept you for who you are and who are willing to listen and help if you are struggling with anything.

Why is it that things like Masturbation or appreciating the beauty of the female body considered bad in the realm of  Christianity? Is it really just another form of a control?

It isn't that they don't like it, it is that they are told not to like it. Funny part here, at least in the United States, the biggest viewers of online porn come from the more religious states.

Yes, it is a form of control. Women are scapegoated from the very first story.

Pretty easy. Lust, aka 7 deadly sins. This is more dominant in catholic demention, but its also in pauline letters. Although its not as bad as sexual immorality which you will go to hell for . But its frowned upon in terms of lewd stuff etc. So its pretty restrictive about your sexuality.

Although this is likely just Pauline teachings either way. So i dont see why it matters. Since the gospels are more or less not by people who were witnesses to begin with. But fundamentalists of course follow this to the letter.
