Sin & Forgiveness
It doesn't have to be poverty as punishment. A wealthy person could get a disease for example. Had I not had the Buddhist tag I believe I would have got more insights to my original question ?

That's supposed to make it better, I take it?  So.............rape, poverty, and disease.  These are the tools with which karma metes out justice?  I suppose famine isn't out of karmas reach, the starving deserve it, after all.  Can I add famine to the list of tools at karmas disposal for the righteous adjudication of sin?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I thought we already answered the original point. Christianity is stupid, and it all makes no sense.

But then to me, your system makes just as little sense, as does every other religion and woo. If there's no evidence, I'm not going to believe. You seem to have singled out this particular belief to be immune to scepticism. But that's your choice of course.

Unimpressive. Poverty as punishment, wealth as reward - hear it from the christers too. I'm baffled as to why you find them so difficult to understand, you guys are in lock step. What's the takeaway from all of this? If you do bad things karma will turn you into a poor Somali girl and then rape you? GL with that shit.

Quote:Good sir atleast I'm responsible for my actions. I don't have a safe feeling that if I do something wrong still I will be alright.
This, right here, meh. Do you think that makes you different from christians, or atheists? It doesn't, I can assure you. But so what, why bicker over what brings another a safe feeling when you have your own blanket as well? Karma is your safe feeling. That, for example..if you do it all right, wrong won't happen to you. I don't want to be there for the day you realize this isn't so. GL with that, as well.

If I do bad karma , bad deeds, misdeeds what ever you may call it. Yes depending on the action. Might not be a rape case it might be something else. A rape case may be an effect of extreme misdeeds.

Yes you are correct. No matter how good I live till I die I'm not certain if nothing will happen to me. I might be in a car crash , I might get leukemia. I believe ( again it's only me out of 7 billion people) it may what I have done in my past lives. So in this life I try to accumulate more good karma so that the person in the next life can benefit. This goes on until your free of attachments. Human beings want to enjoy life. Human beings can never be satisfied, craving for more and more. New things, adventures , climbing up the ladder etc etc. it's never ending. Until one finds the root cause.

Anyway it's just me out of 7 billion.

Doesn't have to be namely sir. But things like that. Any bad thing that happens everywhere. Things that happen to people in day to day life.

I understand that you believe that, it's not true - but I'm not really concerned with it's truth.

It's difficult to stomach having a victim blamer delineate the shortcomings of human beings, and propose a route to happiness.  Does it involve victim blaming?  Because if it does....I'm not interested.....

Of course it doesn't involve victim blaming. Sir when you say "Which you would deserve " what are your thoughts exactly. Are you "Rhythm" saying it to me or. What would you feel if I said the same thing to you without even seeing you or knowing who you are .

It very clearly involves victim blaming.....from post 28, page 3, of this very thread...

Yes that is what I believe. What do you believe ?

Is that not, now, what you believe?

Am I saying that to you..no, of course not, I think this entire subject is ridiculous.  That's just -your- karma catching up to -you-.  Luekemia, car crashes...you probably kicked -alot- of dogs.  At least as many as poor people who get raped.

Does a person who blames the raped girl for her misfortune actually get to bitch about how stranger's comments might make him feel? Not in my book.

I apologize what I meant was I myself don't blame the victim. No one really does. It's what the victim has brought from her past lives which she or she is unaware. In a rape case I just hope that the victim has brought enough good karma with him or her to do better in this life.

Yes this is all ridiculous to all members here I know.

-and yet you did and continue to blame the victim.  This was, and continues to be, an example of karma in action.

If anyone ever asks me what karma is..I'm going to tell them that a buddhist told me it was the force that makes people poor, and then rapes them...because they deserve it*.

(*symptoms may also include luekemia and sudden car crash)
