I see no difference between that character making or not making these claims. If directed at us, I couldn't give a shit. If directed at fellow theists, it doesn't make their perception any worse anyway.

Yeah, considering atheists to all be drinking from the same well is exactly the kind of attitude that leads to ignorant nonsense like this.
