Is it unpatriotic to rightfully criticize one's own country with the aim of improving it?
I kind of thought it wasn't. The "my country right or wrong" attitude is jingoism, not patriotism.
No, this country isn't perfect and I said as much. It just seems like there's always a lot of America bashing on this forum. I get that it's not perfect, but everything being said about it always seems so negative...
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I'm always more critical of me and mine. With others it tends not to be my business.

^The thing is we need to take cues from Japan when it comes to making this country better.

No, it's not. Just because some atheists don't agree with superlative declarations, doesn't mean that atheists don't have loyalty or show support for their country.

I'm a patriotic atheist i don't agree with pushing religion into government or changing history saying
the founding fathers were christian and i don't agree with how education is being handled in the United States either.
The fact being the school board is the thing that really harms education we need more science and arts and history real history.

America is a great country, but not the greatest. I don't know what the greatest country is. Denmark?

It would be hard for me to be patriotic about America, which doesn't prevent me from praising my own country's achievements while condemning its faults.
Lol.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Yes, America beckons, Americans repel.
