You're assigning a different meaning to the word atheist than I am when you claim that. I was obviously talking about becoming an atheist as a believer, not about lacking a belief in God by default.

I assumed the question was rhetorical or antagonizing. Like you were assuming I had some significant "event" to become "one of the people". I found it silly. Perhaps I misread it. I am often wrong. Either way my original answer isn't far from the truth. I learned critical thinking early on, you might say I hit my head on it =). Speaking figuratively of course.

You're defining "atheist" as someone who was a believer but lost their faith?

By your definition despite my disbelief in god, I am not an atheist..........

I don't only define in that way, just in this case, as was obvious per context. The word atheist can describe these both things at the same time. It is defined as a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods. Notice that nothing in that neutral definition points to one's beliefs previous to becoming an atheist.

He pointed it out as a matter of clarification. You in return then broadened the definition. Then you defined it yourself. By your definition "a person who disbelieves or lacks belief" (seems redundant there) "in the existence of God or gods." that seems pretty ok. As long as you don't cut out the word "belief" in a future definition and rest solely on existence.

I googled the definition, didn't come up with it myself. I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
