Personally I have never known an Evangelical so I can't say much.
The numbers are correct, dear.

This chart is broken down in different ways but "baptists" ( and we have a couple of representative crazies around here ) are the second largest group behind catholics.
(Of course, they don't consider catholics to be "christian" but that is a pissing contest I rather enjoy watching.)
Baptists are Evangelicals?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Catholics always feel guilty. Evangelicals want everyone else to feel guilty.

Having grown up watching the sectarianism in Ireland and Scotland and even being caught up in a bomb scare or 2, I'd say the catholics are preferable on the whole. Of course you get the odd muppet who gets wound up and starts a fight on the basis of a surname, but they don't start on random passers by trying to force their interpretation of morality on you. Baptists, particularly converts will do that, along with getting personally offended at the statement that you aren't a believer.
Indeed the more virulent examples come across as hating the whole of existence.

The likes of Bill Donohue are as much public nuisances as megachurch pastors; however, pound for pound Evangelicals are far worse simply because of their constant proselytizing. Catholics for the most part attend mass on Sunday and perhaps a church function here and there, but other than this nary a peep about Jesus unless rolling out the short pre-meal prayer. Evangelicals will look for any opportunity to shove Jesus down your throat; insufferable lot.

I was raised Protestant Evangelical. I now work (on weekends) for Catholics.
The evangelicals are the ones who are more likely to believe the Bible is literal. Most Catholics do not. There are evangelical fundamentalist Catholics though (I have met a few) and very very moderate Evangelicals, but they are the exceptions to the basic stereotype.
