Green Inferno. Ugh, not sure how I'm going to get through the rest of it...

I thought they were all silly. 
They all have their silly aspects - watching them now they're more comedy than horror to me; I enjoy the meta aspect of "kids who are fans of horror movies find themselves inside a horror movie" that the Scream movies have. It amuses me.  What gets me about 3 is that it crosses over from comedy to campiness and being over the top silly. I suppose that's why I never saw 4.

Horror movies are a strange thing to me. I find them either boring, or highly disturbing, with few that land in the middle.
Supernatural ones tend to bore me. I just can't seem to suspend disbelief in demon possessions or ghosts long enough to actually be scared. Otoh, the ones with extreme dismemberment or nail guns to the eyeball make me so squeamish I cannot even watch them.
My favorites that hit more psychological horror are
Silence of the Lambs
The Shining
Alien (the original. And if you don't think this is horror, well, to each their own)
Silent Hill...right up until the end, lol
The Ring
The Babadook
I also enjoy campy and humorous horror, like Cabin in the Woods or Tucker and Dale vs Evil and Drag me to Hell.
Anyway, so those are my recommendations. My husband loves all kinds, and still watches every new horror that comes out, so I get to watch a lot terrible horror. Seems to me any actually worth watching are few and far between.

That's just the problem. There are so many horror films to see and so few that are really great. I can't tell you how many times I got suckered into watching something awful because of the enticing artwork on the sleeve and the synopsis on the back making it sound compelling.

I expected better from Mr. Del Toro. His last film Pacific Rim is fucking amazing and was such a great theatre going experience. Crimson Peak looks great, has good performances and starts well only to become cliché, predictable and boring.
