Theocracy

If they actually said they want this to be a Christian nation, did they actually mean they want it to be a theocracy, though? I highly doubt it. 

I get that you guys don't like these people and that you don't like Republicans, but let's be ojective here and not throw around false accusations.

They haven't said they want it to be a Christian nation, they've said that it is a Christian nation; I've already pointed out to you that in that video, Rubio made the claim that the constitution is founded on Christian principles, a claim numerous teabaggers have made, which is both a lie and an endorsement of the idea of rule by God, the definition of theocracy. Their platforms are based on religious principles, defunding Planned Parenthood, forbidding abortion, overturning same-sex marriage, the denial of climate change made by numerous senators is made vocal on religious grounds. These people want America to be a theocracy in all but name.

A theocracy would involve much more than just those things though.

i remember that piece about not forcing any one to become christain. Of course he wouldnt do that to me but what about my children. It took a lady named Madylen to go all the way to the supreme court to get God out of the public schools. Do you see what i mean? I feel that if they got their way that would be overturned and my children would be forced to memorise bible passages with out any sort of exposure to other religions. on top of that it would be done in kindergarden where kids have yet to develop critical thinking.

I'm not talking about a dramatic overhaul of the system where the Pope is invited to take the oval office or something, I'm talking about powerful figures making administrative decisions informed by personal religious principle, whether such a thing is done in an official religious state or a democratic republic, it is still an act of theocracy, and in the case of the latter, such an action, however small, moves us towards the former.

as i said it was that way until Madelyn O'hare fought it. I am a big advocate of teaching middle school children all about all of the world faiths. Then they can decide on their own. From what i have seen from most Christian parents, this would be intolerable as it would expose them to "satanic" ideas. But you can be sure that if they could teach the really young children "their" ideas they would be all for it. escpecialy if those children where mine.

And for the record, I don't know these people. I don't keep up with politics and probably won't even be voting. I'm just trying to be objective about what looks like a very unreasonable accusation.

Mike huckabee and ben Carson certainly do. Rubio seems to think the bible is quite important. Basically anyone who says they're a christian before they're an american, or something like that, basically wants a theocracy. They might not say that word, but if they're trying to put biblical teachings into law, then that's what it leads to. Trust me. there are plenty of people who want this to be an exclusively christian nation.

Maybe but from what i have seen historiclly and personally the christian mind set is to push their way of thinking on all that they can. For example did you know that circumsisions are totally unneccessary but a man named Kellog thought it could stop boys from masterbating and so used his "scientific" authority to convience everyone that it was a good idea. He also wanted to use hydrochloric acid on the clitoris to stop girls from doing the same thing. This was all from his puritanical evangelical ideology. Today everyone is ashamed of their bodies due to puritanical evangellical ideology that being naked is bad. And finially women are concerned about their virgintiy even though it makes 0 difference on sex due to the puritanical evengellical patriarchal ideology. Love ya dear but history says the Christians are not harmless to society.
