Yes ... it's better to tell them what they want to hear first.

That still doesn't ensure truthfulness.

Perhaps Trump should be voluntarily waterboarded as the Hitch allowed himself to be.

Might see just how unpleasant it is and then realise how ineffective it is.

Or perhaps not.

Perhaps it should be involuntary, in order to more closely simulate real-world conditions. Perhaps it should happen for a few months running, for the same reason. Perhaps he might accidentally succumb in the process.

Well, we can always dream, right?

If ONLY I could.

And then we could also get Cruz.

No fan of revenge, I just want Trump and the current GOP field to go away and shut the fuck up.

The thing about Fear... people will tell you what you want to hear. They'll make something up if they have to.

I don't advocate for revenge, but I do think the doctor ought to taste his own prescription.

Whether it works or not, it's barbaric. That's the only reason I need to oppose it.

Some of these polls just have to be wrong.

Quote:Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has raced out to a 20-point lead over his nearest 2016 GOP rival in a national poll released Wednesday that showed him pick up 8 points of support since earlier this month.

Mr. Trump was at 39 percent in the Quinnipiac University poll, followed by Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at 19 percent and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas at 18 percent.

This latest one came after the torture remarks. That may have been the straw that broke the camel's back. I hope not. I really want to see this guy nominated because either of the Dems would have to fuck-up extremely bad to lose to him. He's burying himself.

I agree. In fact, I'd like to see all of these armchair tough-guy-wannabes running for office (and their fucking supporters) subjected to a couple of pages out of the SERE training playbook -- followed by some remedial education in international law. The discourse in this country would be elevated immediately.
