According to a study, when some subjects were told that free will does not exist, they became more aggressive, more likely to steal, etc. And another study told that students who believed in free will performed better academically. Does none of that describe any changes you've noticed about yourself?

Care to cite the source of that study?

Drop the "free". I have will, sometimes free, sometimes not.

Why do you consider it free sometimes and sometimes not? Care to elaborate?

Interesting stuff.  Correlative, rather than causative, but interesting.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

RE: Free will and you.
I have had free will since birth. Being raised fundamentalist, I was brainwashed for a while into thinking that there was this judgmental invisible guy watching me all the time, and if I didn't dust my furniture the way mommy wanted, he would put this black mark into some book. If I dared to question the wholly babble, he would send me to hell to fry forever after I died. Pre-destination and "god's will for us" and "god's plan" were a little more intimidating for a child - - that ridiculous thread of "god created you for a reason" crap.
Realizing that there is no god, no hell, and no ongoing judgment of my every action simply returns me to the state I should have been in all along: simply "me" and much less fearful.

RE: Free will and you.
the citations you mentioned might've indicated that a belief in free will has *useful* societal implications.
it doesn't mean free will actually exists > useful does not equal true

I only mentioned it to ask Rhythm if he has experienced anything alike.

I haven't, but that's unsurprising.  I'm neither mormon nor a chinese student.

Free when it's my idea, my attempt, my action. Not free when it's not my idea, not my attempt, not my action. I do the not's but for other motivations.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I have spent as little time reflecting on the nature of free will as I have on the best colour for a nuclear missile. Talking about this stuff is like a fan in an empty room, moving air around for no good reason.

if there is a free will, then I would feel a sense of agency .. a sense that I am the master of my own destiny
but if there is no free will, ... then meh, my will is an illusion; its not true, it doesn't exist. I'm just a network of molecules that can be predicted by mathematical equations
