My doctor asked me to pray.

RE: My doctor asked me to pray.
What are you going to do when the doc says "That's all I can do, it's in gods hand now"?

Excuse me, pray for strep throat? WTF. What did he tell you to pray for? That it's not resistant, that he picked the right antibiotic? That you didn't inoculate the whole town with your kissing bandit obsession? (hehehe) Give me a break.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

That's fucking insane! Why do people feel like it's okay to impose their asinine religious beliefs onto people? On to STRANGERS. At work! Disgusting. You should have told him to fuck off. How unprofessional.

The meds that he gave me were great!  I would never tell a drug dealer to "F.O." (even though I don't take them), and besides, this doc was much bigger than me!

Next time, let me know when you have to see him. You can borrow my magical cat and my unicorn. That should ensure that he won't ever write "pray" on a list of things for you to do.

I would probably say something to the effect of "I'm here because I'm not superstitious," and if that didn't work I would start looking for another doctor.

Could be he prayed for you before you took the medicine and after you took it. Doctors who are realistic know they have no real control over your health, they understand they can only aid in your recovery, thank God for those doctors who care to help.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Yeah, he could have talked to himself before and after the visit.  And it had absolutely NO effect on fighting the illness..

Helping in the recovery is far more effective than mumbling to yourself and hoping it helps.  Oh, and, from experience, I can tell you that removing and/or replacing diseased organs is far more than only helping with recovery.

Thank the doctors for the years of dedication and training they've put in to help people.

No, I went to an urgent care clinic; the doc had no knowledge of me prior to coming into the exam room.  He was still reading my chart when he walked in.

I can see where you would be happy with a doctor who was that stupid.

RE: My doctor asked me to pray.
You should have improvised a generic prayer, then finished it off, "we ask this in Lucifer's holy name. Amen."

Then be like, "You got punked, Doc! Now you're going to hell for praying to Satan with me lolz."
You're not an ugly person; you're a beautiful monkey.
