Was a Christian, now atheist. Was a sober pessimist, now a friend of the seat at the corner at the bar, right next to the wall, and all the staff there knows my name.
I also wore dresses at one point. Now I'd feel in drag if I did. I like dresses, though. Like when it's windy and a dress walks by. That would explain why my friend says I went from fundie to fundyke. Lmfao!
Is it beer time yet?

Any time is beer time. Once all the vodka's gone.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I was thinking more Dallas, but I wouldn't rule out Austin
I'm lucky that I can pass though. I'm not as obvious in real life as I probably come across on here haha. Well, I can be, but I have an "off" switch, which everyone should have.
Dallas is still Hicksville -- an overgrown miasma of city bullshit and hillbilly attitude.

I have, as an 11-16 year old, protested abortion clinics. Now I am so far pro choice that I make many pro choice people uncomfortable

I just wanted to add that I have a lot of respect for people who give subjects a lot of thought snd then change their position.
It's the easy route to stick to your guns regardless, providing more and more convoluted rationalisations; to yourself, more than anyone else.
I used to think I was useless at anything outside of academic subjects and technology. This is a result of my "upbringing" by a narcissistic father who always wanted me to rely on him. I now think that I'm perfectly capable of other things too, and that my low self esteem is irrational. I still feel it, but I fight against it now.

"When it comes to the deiety I worship, he sent a book, it contained a message. I took that message, tested it, then I realized he is God : it didn't break against reality it was a complete load of bullshit."
compare the above to my sig! The above is what I was hoping he would say once he realigned himself with reality...sadly, not.

He may get there yet. He's kind of straddling the fence now, he can see a lot of theistic crap for what it is, but is just lacking that last bit of introspection to turn the spotlight inwards.
This isn't an insult btw, it's a compliment. I've never seen any religious theist on this forum get anywhere near this level of clarity before. The reasons they disagree with other theists are ones generally rooted in fantasy rather than reality; Atlas is instead now using reality based reasoning much more.
There have probably been theists becoming atheists here at some point before my time. But since I've been here, this is only the second time I've noticed any actual progress. (Another member impressed me previously with an abandonment of creationism.)

I don't know about here, but I've seen two theists at other atheist sites complete their journey to rationality. It can and does happen.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
