Parents not taking there crying child outside at a restaurant or store

RE: Parents not taking there crying child outside at a restaurant or store
I know it bugs the crap out of me when hearing a child throw a fit for a long time, only to find his/her caretaker yapping on their cellphone completely without care. It would be great if those types could try to calm their child instead of ignoring them.

as long as you're not screaming at Olive Garden

I always thought of Olive Garden as a more family oriented place. We have a place here called Ma's, the food is fancy Italian, the atmosphere is quiet with low classical music, the chairs are frail (you feel like if you wiggle too much they'll break), they're spectacular at choosing the perfect wine to go with your meal, everything is made of glass. I would never bring my kids there. My kids are very well behaved IMO but it doesn't matter. It's not a place for kids. Kids don't enjoy it, adult don't enjoy kids not enjoying it, the owners would probably have a nervous breakdown worrying over what might be broken. That's the type of place that should just ban children altogether.

Tbh if you have kids and can't afford someone to hire a babysitter for them, I don't know exactly where you'd get the money from to be going some fancy expensive restaurant anyway. Priorities.

No shade, if I suddenly had a kid now, that would be me.

And of course there are more family-oriented restaurants which are more suitable for young families, nothing wrong with that. I just think people should know what they're getting before they go.

Um no, sorry. Of course there are different classes and different prices, and nobody should claim there shouldn't be differences. But it is absolute bullshit to claim that the middle class or even the working poor should not have a life outside of work, or should not have something comparable that the rich have.

No sorry, even the poor who have kids want alone time and want adult places to go to get a break. To say they should not have a life outside their work because of their pay scale is fucking bullshit.

"If you cant afford kids" is fucking classism. If the legality of having kids is class based then ban anyone making below a certain amount from having them, or remove their balls or uterus by force. If not, then the issue isn't pay scale, the issue is lack of livable wages.

Humans are not machines and should not be treated as objects, or numbers on a page for the rich to use like numbers on a spreadsheet.

Ffs did I say that though? I said nothing about "people shouldn't have lives" but some restaurants have their price and if you can't afford that particular restaurant you don't go. That's me for a lot of restaurants, I'm not shitting out money myself, and I still have a life.

People in this thread are having serious problems taking things to hyperbole. This is nuanced, it's not "you can't have a life if you don't have kids" outright, most parents still manage it just fine. However having kids will, to some degree, affect what you can afford and how often you can afford it, and how often you can go out, and where you can go that's child-appropriate. If you don't want those impacts on your life, kids aren't for you.

I'm not proud of myself, but I find myself to be more indulgent of animals than children. I don't know what it is, maybe not having children of my own, maybe the constant thought of them growing up to be perfect assholes, but children throwing a fit simply unnerve me.

No sorry, again, I am not arguing price differences. You are arguing classism, as if the middle class and working poor don't deserve quiet time like the rich, and sorry, that is fucking bullshit.

Same with beer and cigarettes. The rich have no problem selling it to any class, but when the rich have addictions we call that a flaw, when the poor have the same addictions we call them mooches or criminals. That is also fucking bullshit.

No sorry, freedom is also for the middle class and poor. The top don't get to dictate to the rest of society. What matters is better pay for workers. What matters is the ability for everyone to have a life outside work so that they can take care of themselves better.

Wanting kids or not wanting kids, neither is right or wrong, but a matter of comfort. There are tons of adults I hate too like Drumpf. I'd rather put up with a screaming baby than that fucking asshole, and I don't like kids myself.

What? If you can't afford kids, don't have them. That's not classism it's called being a responsible adult. I don't think people should be looked down on for bringing their kids to a restaurant or for not being able to afford a babysitter. But if you can't afford a babysitter you shouldn't be eating at a super fancy restaurant. No I don't mean Olive Garden that's not a fancy restaurant and there's no reason you can't bring your kids. But some places just aren't good for kids.

Quote: But even then people have kids and even the middle class and working poor also deserve access to those adult venues. So it still is a balance and still depends. Be flexible.

For the third and (hopefully) final time, this isn't about classism and it isn't about who has what access to what venues. It is about inappropriate behaviour in public places. Why aren't you getting this?
