At least the developed world.

And how much money was spent on that study?

You could have saved all of that by just asking almost anyone else in the Western World.

USA! USA!! USA!!!

'Murka.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

To be fair, USians are a lot easier to get on with when they're at home.  American tourists I've dealt with in NI and NZ are almost universally loud know-it-alls who seem intent on telling me why MY country sucks - sort of like going to your friend's house for supper and bitching about the décor.

I've been to the US several times, and the people I met there were generally warm-hearted, kind and helpful.

So, I suppose the take away from this is that Americans should stay home.  Smile

The article's title doesn't match up with the data presented.

First of all when it comes to importance of religion in people's lives America is in the middle, which isn't so bad.  Additionally it doesn't look like the data represents every country.
There are several countries in Africa not on this data representation and Africa is possibly one of the worst places in the world for religious nuts. As in superstition is rife, human beings get killed and their bodies used for good luck charms, Muslim vs Christian violence, the belief in witches and ghosts.

Secondly Americans are delusional because they believe hard work is the primary predictor of life success?  Success is relative to what a person wants to achieve. Whoever wrote this article seems to be confused about the difference between having money and being successful.

Most things that people want to achieve do take some form of hard work to succeed in, that's not delusional.  Plus it's all relative so not really something you can provide concrete data on whether it makes someone delusional.

It seems most of the data is relying on comparing America with Europe and not the rest of the world aswell in the other cases it's tying to show.

If you want to create an article like it and actually use the data presented in relation to demographics in the US you could create a title like "Non white Americans are religious nuts especially when compared to white Americans"

I personally wouldn't make such a blanket statement, but that's the style the author of the article is going for.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Iran wasn't on the list but America wouldn't come close to Iran in a competition of people who put importance on religion, or "religious nuts" as the article describes it.  They have blasphemy laws and the demographics show the country is much more religious.
