The article states that the Chinese government will be building stairs, still one hell of a climb. Puts things I complain about in perspective.

If they had any sense they would build a new school and eliminate the need for the dangerous climb.

If they had any sense they would build a new school and eliminate the need for the dangerous climb.

The school isn't the problem, their village is. The kid's are climbing the ladder to get back home after 2 weeks at the school boarding.

Their ancestors chose an odd spot to settle down, but they should seriously consider building some other form of transportation than bamboo ladders.

The idea is that the school should be where the students live.  The fact that the kids have to risk life and limb indicates that the dummies running the school are stupid.
