from another bastion of Bible-Belt hell: Missouri. (aka "Misery") Right next door to the loony bin known as Kansas.
I feel your pain! But I think you're gonna love it here!

Welcome.
Wife is catholic. It works.
Do you feel a compulsion to respond to "The stars at night,...................."?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Lots of jews and cubans there.
And retirees from up north.

Welcome, ml. I've lived in SC for the last 26 years, and spent about half my life previous in the South; but I was born in Illinois.
Meetup.com is a good resource for finding other like-minded folk, it has a feature where you set the range and it finds Meetup groups with that description within that distance.
Another place to meet agnostics, atheists, and skeptics is a Unitarian Universalist fellowship or congregation. The joke goes that Unitarians believe in one God...at most. Unitarian Universalists run zero to sixty.

Welcome. I'm from Alabama, so of course the town I live in has a dozen churches scattered around.

I live in Texas which means everyone around me is Christian so I need to look elsewhere for any kind of conversation that doesn't involve god bless you, have a blessed day, god works in mysterious ways... etc. My fiancé is Roman Catholic and we work because we don't really discuss religion but I would like to be able to discuss it with others of a like mind. I do follow some atheist pages (literally just started a month or two ago so I'm very new to being able to actually vocalize my beliefs without getting told I'm wrong) and comment with the other readers but that is more of whatever the person wants to post at the time. I would like to have a more broad conversation.
I live in Texas too. Welcome.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Because Florida is a meltingpot of people from all over the country including many Latin Americans. So even though it is south, it doesn't have the Southern type culture people refer to when they are talking about "The South."
