Let's see how many apologetics take the bait

"And the pig, though it has a divided hoof, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you." - Leviticus 11: 7, 8

Sounds like a contradiction to me. Seeing lots of hoop jumping.

If all the "green plants" are food, why are so many toxic? Maybe it takes delight in suffering, sickness and death. Kind of sick for a fantasy deity.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

The idiocy in the statement is more amusing than it's inconsistency.  "God" -didn't- give us any of the plants we eat as food.  We cultivated them, and I'm not talking about hoeing up the ground...they didn't even -exist-.  That was work we had to do, slipped his mind. We're still at it...still starving....still slipping his mind.

To be honest, I don;t find any of the arguments from internal consistency, or inconsistency, very compelling on the subject of whether or not there's a god. It's uninformative. All any consideration of that can speak to is the quality of the editors. That's the easiest way to respond to -any- such argument.....if one wishes to defend their faith, but it's unthinkable, apparently, to have an ounce of common sense in defense of pixies.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Was he mad at pigs, or something?
There is no such thing as biblical logic.  It's an elaborate joke that the English cooked up when they wrote the story.

As you are aware the fairy tale claims that you aren't supposed to eat a lot of stuff because it's an abomination.  Yet the fairy tale has people literally slicing and dicing their children and making stew out of them.  How insane is that?  Wouldn't a normal, rational sane person rather eat a pork chop, tuna, shellfish (unless allergic), or even a roasted buzzard instead of a child?

This is what happens when you accept the premise that anything is possible. Without things like 'reason,' 'logic,' 'reality,' and putting them into objectivity you could find yourself questioning reality itself and driving yourself into madness.

(no refrigeration, plus medium rare is how most everyone ate everything) This would also account for the law that says Jew must eat everything well done. (no blood in the meat)

And for today's WHAT'S MORE LIKELY??

a) a deity gave this order to Jews so that they would be protected from disease

b) some pretty severe cases of Taenia solium (or other shitty fucking parasites, bacteria or viruses) were hitting the chosen people so they decided it was better to stop eating pork... and then codified the law in the only way they knew at the time

c) a group of desert nomads raised sheep and goats and moved them around looking for grass and water.  Meanwhile, their more settled neighbors to the West and North kept pigs since they make poor herding animals so best to keep them in one place.  Probably in a drunken brawl one goat-herder made a disparaging remark about pigs and a pig-farmer shouted back "BACON ASSHOLE" and so the feud was born.  Once some idiot wrote it into the fucking bible morons like dripshit took it seriously.

Yes, he could have. Did you ever consider that he might have left room for interpretation in order to generate discussion and personal reflection? See prov 25:2.
Quote:In addition, if you follow the belief that he created man, then why would he purposely single out a certain group of people for special treatment?
He particularly liked Abraham and made a promise to him.

We're created in his image. We each give special treatment to some people. I don't see why this is puzzling to you.

Quote:This is doing exactly what parents who show favoritism for one kid over another, do. They pick favorites and screw everyone else. Erm, excuse me, but if god is going to play favorites, he fucked up.
God doesn't claim to be everyone's parent.

Sure he does. Have you not read your own bible?

Does he not say "I am your Father"?

Yes he does. If you are reading that bible, and you sincerely believe in it word for word, then when you read those four words "I am your Father", you surely must believe that he is speaking to you.

If you don't believe that, then you aren't a christian and your god must be disappointed in you. After all, christians believe that he is the only god and that he alone is the creator.

I grew up on a farm where we raised hogs. I bred them, castrated males, trimmed tails, gave vaccinations, fed them, and sold them at auction. So yeah, I know pigs and you don't know what you are talking about. Who's the moron now?

As opposed to the pigs in your mind?  Yeah..that does make me a farmer.

@Chad...sounds like you;re a peice of shit that couldn't manage to provide a healthy environment, why you think that I -didn't- come up raising (and hating) pigs...when it's a matter of public knowledge on these boards...is a mystery....

.......just like "jesus".

Personally, I wouldn't admit to spending a significant portion of my life doing something without learning anything about it. The only place you'll find anyone characterizing pigs as filthy or unclean is in magic book. The rest of us know better.

There's no issue too small or too unimportant for a believer to make an ass out of themselves on account of, it seems.
