I love beef liver and almost never get to make it at home because my wife hates it -- can't even stand the odor. There is a fair chance that she is going out with some girlfriends tonight. If so, Crossless1 is going to buy a pound of liver, fry it with bacon and onions, and gorge on it until I pass out. When she returns, I'll laugh and laugh as she complains about the smell, reminding her that a date night with me, instead, would have spared her the olfactory horror.

Interesting. Round these parts where I live, refrigerators and stoves are part of the rental unit. They come already in the place you rent. Some, like ours, even come with a dishwasher. We did bring our own washer and dryer though. Disclaimer: I am only responsible for what I say, not what you choose to understand.

Ham and bean soup. So easy. Little bit of ham, an onion, bunch of beans, hotsauce, water/v8....and a crockpot.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
Beans from a can or beans that you have to wash, rinse and soak for a few hours?

I use dry beans. Quicksoak though, bring the water to boil and wait for an hour. Aint nobody got time to wait a day for some beans. If you usd canned beans you'd probably have to wait until the last hour or so (of the 4-6 in a crockpot) to put them in...but honestly, probably not. So what if they mush, just thickens the soup.

Got a pork loin marinating in what was left from my coffee this morning, to be grilled tommorrow.

We're going to have to try that, but with lentils. We have oodles of dry lentils here. And we don't have hotsauce on hand so I'll substitue chili power and cardamom instead. Think that'll work?
I actually do have V8 juice and ham, so the potential is there ![]() Disclaimer: I am only responsible for what I say, not what you choose to understand.
Should, but lentils don't need to be soaked (you probably already know that). I've used them before. Not -quite- the same taste as a 15 bean dry mix.
