Just shows you how credulous some believers can be. Just imagine if the pope was arrested (which won't happen). The wailing and crying, the candles and vigils, the praying. They would make a right martyr of him.

Seriously I have never understood why the catholic clergy don't end their obsession with celibacy. I can't remember which pope started the trend (pious,innocent or whoever). It seems to only be custom rather than anything from scripture. Although I freely admit total ignorance on this. It must really mess them up in the head.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Almost every religion allows their clergy people to marry and have children. Why not the Catholics? What's the problem if a priest marries? They can't have a normal life? But it's okay if they get blowjobs from altar boys.

I also don't understand their decree that you can't use artificial birth control. This is simply stupid and I'll bet the vast majority of parishioners ignore it.

Well, C-S, one obvious reason is that the mother-fuckers aren't all that "celibate." Ideals are easy to champion if you have no intention of living up to them anyway.

I don't understand why anyone would continue to support an organization when it has been revealed that the organization has been covering up child molestation committed by its members.

The Vatican has attacked the media over charges that the Pope failed to act against a US priest accused of abusing up to 200 deaf boys two decades ago.

A Vatican newspaper editorial said the claims were an "ignoble" attack on the Pope and that there was no "cover-up".
