I suppose I could have told her that it's a turn of the mille torture device that some people point to as a beautiful symbol of their scapegoating death cult (you know...to be truthful)....but she's eight, and I was just trying to get a car-full of children to a lake to cool off from this southern summer heat. She also informed my wife that it was illegal to throw litter out of the window...and so I asked her whether or not it was illegal to throw children out of the window. To which she replied "the law paper says so" - to which I asked..."what's law paper..the stuff you wipe your butt with?".
Think I should have handled it differently?
