I'm confused.
Take the top a half inch below the growth crown, then..from the top, 2/3rds of the flesh (1/3rd from each side) in quarters (unless you have a curved blade to core it). If you hit the crown with rooting hormone and keep it above 50f it'll grow you a new pineapple, btw. Takes a couple years and tastes like shit..but wtv.

Probable not much help but I found it cool anyways...
I have a very similar gadget, usually works pretty well. I think once it went off course through the pineapple, but probably operator error.
