I had to look up who Margaret Atwood was and what she wrote, so no, but her books look really interesting, so I might look for some next time I go to a library.

I think you're a genius, little lunch, and this whole thread is an ironic statement about all the back patting and vast amounts of compliments among the regulars that fill this forum on a daily basis.
I'll take the title "music wizard" though. I'll accept that one.

Is it trying to be intelligent or trying not to be stupid?

I remember a saying.
Half of being smart is knowing what you are dumb about.

When you're smart you are full of doubts because you know that you can't know everything.
This says a lot about some of the people who are full of confidence.
Sometimes you're sad because you know what the world is, unlike those who are fooled by it.
You might not get along with everyone because they don't think like you.
In my job I have the privilege of looking after a few intellectually disabled people.
They are happier in life than I.
Even being half smart can be a curse.
