Damned Pervert Priests - and other assorted Holy Scumbags
RE: Damned Pervert Priests - and other assorted Holy Scumbags
A Texas megachurch youth pastor, who raped fourteen girls, has been released from prison, after serving only 25 months behind bars. He was sentenced to 33 months as part of a plea deal, but has been released early for good behavior. There were no girls in prison for him to rape so he was good.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). German bishop resigns, cites responsibility in abuse scandal

Pope Francis on Saturday accepted a resignation request from a German bishop who asked to step down because of his mistakes in handling sexual abuse cases.

Franz-Josef Bode, who has been the bishop of Osnabrueck, Germany, since 1995, said in a personal statement that his decision to resign “has matured in me in recent months” and he hoped it would have a liberating effect on the diocese.

Bode explained that an interim report released in September on abuse by clergy in the diocese had revealed his mistakes. He acknowledged his responsibility as a bishop and said, “Today, I can only ask all those affected again for forgiveness.”

The pope has not yet responded to a resignation request from a German cardinal who also was accused of mishandling sexual abuse cases. The request from Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki stemmed from a crisis of confidence in the Cologne archdiocese that started in 2020.

The crisis began when, citing legal concerns, Woelki kept under wraps a report he commissioned on how local church officials reacted when priests were accused of sexual abuse. The withholding of the report infuriated many Cologne Catholics. A second report, published in March 2021, found 75 cases in which high-ranking officials had neglected their duties.

Unprecedented investigation into rabbi sex abuse in France

Two independent journalists in France are using podcasts to report the findings of an unprecedented six-months-long investigation into sexual violence committed by rabbis of the country's Orthodox Jewish community,

Salomé Parent-Rachdi and Lila Berdugo, who released the first podcast this past Wednesday, said they wanted to go beyond individual cases and look at the mechanisms within the community – such as the institutional silence or omertà – that has allowed the abuse to take place.

Beyond the cases of the rabbis involved, the two journalists wanted to investigate the "systemic" aspects of sexual violence in the Jewish community. How is it that after a first sexual case known to the regional consistory of Aix-en-Provence, the rabbi implicated by the podcast was moved to Grenoble, with the only injunction being to undergo a few psychotherapy sessions? Why are women who are victims of domination and sexual violence by a rabbi always afraid to speak out and denounce what has happened?

"One of the first things that prevent victims from speaking out is the fear of playing into the hands of antisemitism and harming the community," Lila Berdugo, the journalist, explains.

She also revealed that a rabbi accused of "pedophilia" is currently director of a rabbinical court. And she reported that a rabbi in Greater Paris who allegedly took advantage of his position within his community to abuse a dozen young women continues to enjoy a very honorable place within the Consistory

Forced to tell the truth, Albany Bishop admits he failed to report sexual abuse to avoid scandal. That is internal Catholic Church policy.

Quote:Ex-Bishop Hubbard's deposition released, confirms church hid abuse

Former Albany Bishop Howard J. Hubbard testified under oath last year that he and the diocese systematically concealed incidents of child sexual abuse and did not alert law enforcement agencies when they discovered it, saying their actions were, in part, intended to avoid scandal and preserve "respect for the priesthood."

"The transcript of Bishop Hubbard’s testimony, which is being released today, will be read with horror by the public," said Cynthia S. LaFave, an attorney representing dozens of alleged victims. "The public will see the culpability of the diocese in perpetuating a culture of sex abuse by priests that was allowed to continue for decades. Now the public will understand not only what happened but how it happened. Now the public will see the responsibility the diocese and Bishop Hubbard bear for the atrocity of protecting this institution over the children."

Hubbard said that between 1977 and 2002, he had received reports of 11 priests accused of sexually abusing children. Attorneys for alleged victims contend he confronted the priests accused of child sexual abuse; many were sent for treatment but allowed to return to ministry without the former bishop warning parishioners of their dangerous propensities.

Some of them continued to rape or sexually abuse children when they returned to ministry.

Maryland AG report on Catholic Church sex abuse to be released Wednesday

The attorney general’s office found during its four-year investigation that at least 158 Catholic priests and brothers sexually abused or tortured more than 600 children during an 80-year period beginning in the 1940s.

Baltimore Circuit Judge Robert K. Taylor ordered the attorney general’s office to redact 37 names from the 456-page document. For another 60 people, he ordered the office to remove their names and rephrase information about them so that their identities are entirely removed from the report.

Your Hornyness!

Dalai Lama apologises after kissing boy and asking him to ‘suck his tongue’

The interaction, which took place in late February at the Dalai Lama’s temple in Dharamshala, was attended by about 100 young students who had just graduated from the Indian M3M Foundation.

In a video that has gone viral, one of the young male students approached a microphone at the event and asked the Dalai Lama: “Can I hug you?”

The Dalai Lama, 87, told the boy to come up to the platform where he was seated. Motioning to his cheek, he is heard saying “first here”, after which the child kissed him and gave him a hug.

The Dalai Lama kept hold of the boy, saying “I think here also” and then planted a kiss on his lips. “And suck my tongue,” the Dalai Lama then said, sticking out his tongue, forehead to forehead with the student. The boy quickly stuck out his own tongue and went to move away while the Dalai Lama laughed and pulled the boy in for another hug, as the audience laughed.

As the video spread across the internet it was condemned by many, who called it “inappropriate”, “scandalous” and “disgusting”. The controversy prompted an apology from the office of the Dalai Lama, who said his behaviour had been “innocent and playful”.

Baltimore Catholic Clergy Abused Hundreds of Children and Teens, Attorney General Says

Clergy members across the Archdiocese of Baltimore abused hundreds of children and teenagers over the course of six decades, abetted by a church hierarchy that systematically failed to investigate and restrict their access to children, according to a detailed report from the Maryland attorney general released on Wednesday.

It was the latest harrowing installment in the decades-long revelations of sexual abuse within the Roman Catholic Church, this time set in the first Catholic diocese established in the United States.

The 463-page report, which is the result of a four-year investigation by the attorney general’s office, documents what it describes as “pervasive and persistent abuse” by clergy members and others in the archdiocese, as well as dismissals and cover-ups by the church hierarchy.

Vatican commission for the protection of minors is all about spin

At times it is difficult to believe anything other than that Rome is being willfully stupid when it comes to its dealings with clerical child-sex abuse. This repeated failure, inevitably, prompts recall of Einstein’s much-quoted definition of stupidity, even insanity — doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.

That’s how it may look, but Rome’s serial “mishaps” in this area are neither stupid nor insane. They are about protecting itself above all while obscuring that reality through spin.

Fr Hans Zollner is a German Jesuit and one of the few figures at the Vatican with credibility where the abuse issue is concerned. He resigned from the commission last month and gave his reasons last week at a press conference in Rome. The commission, he said, had yet to take seriously the principles of “transparency, compliance and responsibility” and that there were people in the church, who “for personal or emotional reasons, create obstacles” in the fight against abuse.

It was “a continuous impression on the part of victims that they are not listened to”, he said, and that “many victims no longer expect anything” from the church.

In short, the commission has become a joke, presided over by an ineffectual Cardinal O’Malley, its president since 2014.

Abused by 3 Norbertine priests as a child, he's breaking his silence a half century later

The abuse began in 1965, when Mike Bielmeier was 12 years old.

The abusers would follow Bielmeier into a tunnel connecting St. Willebrord Church to its school, convent and rectory. They would call him into one of the many side rooms, or send another altar boy to fetch him.

Either John Kohnke or David Rondou or Joseph Rohlinger — all Norbertine priests at the time — would assault him, Bielmeier said in an exclusive interview with the Green Bay Press-Gazette, part of USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin.

Whispers followed a few of the Norbertines; some students knew which ones to avoid. But Bielmeier was too naive, and priests at the time were seen as unquestioned authority figures.

Before Bielmeier turned 13 in February 1966, he said, he had been raped multiple times in various settings, from cars in the driveway of his family home to the St. Willebrord Church choir loft, and experienced his first of many dissociative episodes.

By the time he came forward, first to his sister in 2020, and then to the Wisconsin Department of Justice in January 2022, his abusers had long been deceased. All three already were on a list released by the Norbertine order in 2019 of 22 priests with credible abuse allegations against them.

As of last week, the Wisconsin DOJ Clergy and Faith Leader Abuse Initiative has received 248 completed reports to its toll-free tip line and online reporting tool.

"The Norbertine order knew that John Kohnke was a pedophile because he had been kicked out of the Archdiocese of Montana," Bielmeier said.

The first time Kohnke, then an assistant pastor for St. Willebrord Parish, violated Bielmeier was in the church choir loft, Bielmeier said. Kohnke had selected him to do summer work at the parish. The summer job paid well by a kid's standard, and his family needed the money — which the priest knew.

Alone in the loft, Kohnke kissed him, groped his genitals, pressed his erection against him, Bielmeier said. The boy already had been fondled and hugged by the other priests; this went way beyond. Kohnke told him he was special.

"My heart was pounding; my thinking was confused. I felt nauseous but not faint," Bielmeier wrote in his journal. "I closed my eyes and simply sat in silence until a degree of composure returned ... and (I) headed home."

From then on, he said, every new encounter with Kohnke, whether in the choir loft, the sacristy, the furnace room or the boys' locker room, came with a new escalation, increasing the intensity and degree of abuse.

A few disturbing memories still stand out. Bielmeier remembers sitting in the passenger's side of Kohnke's Norbertine-issued car in the parking lot of the now-defunct Prange Way Discount Store, arguing with Kohnke over an errand the priest wanted the boy to run. After abusing him, Kohnke had slid him money and asked Bielmeier to buy him Hai Karate cologne, a scent that always brought him back to the choir loft, where he first understood he was powerless against Kohnke's advances.

It dawned on Bielmeier for the first time that Kohnke was abnormal and potentially dangerous — not the leader nuns worshipped "like he was one of the demigods."

He said he later learned that Kohnke was already under suspicion because a child had come forward to report he had exposed himself.

From then on, Bielmeier avoided Kohnke at all costs. The priest would quietly be moved to Texas, where he became a chaplain and taught students at Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, in 1969.

It wouldn't be until 1974 that he Kohnke would be arrested for oral copulation of a minor in California, in addition to two other arrests for lewd behavior in a bathroom. Even after his arrests, he would work in multiple parishes. He died in 1987.

Catholic School Teacher Gets 19 Years For Child Porn, Was Arrested Upon Return From Anti-Abortion March

Eisenbath couldn’t immediately be arrested because he was at the 2018 anti-abortion March for Life in Washington, D.C. (then-president Donald Trump spoke at the event that year). Eisenbath then admitted to the crimes and soon found himself facing a slew of child pornography and invasion of privacy charges in St. Charles and Lincoln counties, as well as federal charges for also hiding a camera in the bathroom of a private residence in Pennsylvania.

‘The Lost Boys of Mercury’ Reveals Three Decades of Abuse of Children in a French Catholic Correctional Facility

An important film: there are no other words to describe “The Lost Boys of Mercury” (Les Oubliés de la Belle Étoile), the second documentary feature by French director Clémence Davigo, which is in competition at Visions du Réel, in Nyon, Switzerland.

Important because it reveals a tragedy hidden for more than half a century: that of the children under the care of the French social services in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s placed in the La Belle Étoile Catholic correctional center in the mountain village of Mercury, Savoie. There, for three decades, hundreds of them were mistreated, humiliated, starved, beaten, tortured with thumbtacks stuck under their nails, and some were sexually abused.

The film offers the first form of recognition to those who lived through hell there, by allowing them to be heard at last.

Yup, another pedophile Jesuit priest that the Jesuit order COVERED UP for.

Quote:DIARY OF A PEDOPHILE PRIEST

A Spanish member of the religious order of the Society of Jesus (known as the Jesuits) sexually abused dozens of children in Bolivia. The church covered it up, but when he died, Alfonso Pedrajas left behind a shocking confession. EL PAÍS reconstructed his story, in his own words and those of the victims and people who knew him
