Trump plays media
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016/09/1...iddle.html
Donald Trump played the Mainstream Media like a Charlie Daniels fiddle today -- and it was music to my ears.
He was holding court inside his brand new Washington, D.C. hotel while breathless reporters and drooling anchors jumped into wall-to-wall coverage -- waiting to hear Trump apologize.
And he kept them waiting and waiting and waiting.
Reporters thought he was going to launch into a tearful, soul-searching mea-culpa over President Obama's birth certificate.
But it turned out - he resolved the issue lickety-split.
"Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy. I finished it,” Trump said. "President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period. Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great again.”
Mr. Trump was referencing a memorandum written by Mark Penn, her chief strategist at the time.

How can you not respect a man like this?

All the other politicians cower when faced with heavy media scrutiny. This man turns their ill intended conference into Million dollar Free infomercial on his new hotel, a stunning public military endorsement that can not be denied now, AND he laid the bomb of responsibility for this whole 'birther movement' at the 08 Hilary campaign's feet. (with documented proof)

I am absolutely loving this! Win or loose got to respect the man for playing people who think themselves smarter than he is into covering an event that did nothing but benefit him!!!

When will 'smart' people learn. You can't fall off a turnip truck into a billion dollar empire. That money is hard fought for and earned by people way, way smarter than those in politics and the talking head crowd. When will they get, allowing your enemy to think himself smarter than you is the cornerstone philosophy in the art of war? When is the last time we had a president savvy and confident enough to play to his opponent preconceived ideas about him, and let things go to the time he can benefit?

If I were trump, I'd let the media have a bone maybe two (a couple of stories or tweets or something they can use to their benfit) before I'd hit them again with another big bomb like this just before the election.

But we will see..

... and how did they do that? I want to see exactly where Clinton's campaign asserted Obama wasn't born in the US.

Seriously? I can think of ten reasons in less than as many seconds.

Stunning? Really? Ask Romney how many military endorsements he had. And what documented proof? Really. Show us.

Nothing Trump does is for any other purpose than to benefit himself.

Evidence Trump has a billion-dollar empire. Oh, right. You can't possibly prove that because the man refuses to release his tax returns.

I wouldn't vote for Trump if you were him either.

... and what big bomb?

No evidence Reahe he he he llly?

How about 2007 Clinton campaign memo?
How about a hillary 60 minutes televised interview, where she call obama's citizenship into question?
How about a clinton appology to obama for starting this whole movement???

http://www.thepoliticalinsider.com/7-new...irtherism/

Are the about news sources too right wing for your sensibilities??? The following is from the huffie post:

Back in March of 2007, Hillary Clinton’s chief strategist Mark Penn wrote a campaign memo that proposed painting Barack Obama as un-American or “other”:
“His roots to basic American values and culture are at best limited. I cannot imagine America electing a president during a time of war who is not at his center fundamentally American in his thinking and in his values ... Every speech should contain the line you were born in the middle of America to the middle class in the middle of the last century ... Let’s explicitly own ‘American’ in our programs, the speeches and the values. He doesn’t.
In December of 2007, Billy Shaheen, the co-chair of Clinton’s New Hampshire campaign, raised the issue of Obama’s drug use as a young man, and the possibility that Obama could be attacked as a drug dealer. He said he was talking about how Republicans would attack Obama, but his statements had the effect of injecting racist stereotypes into the campaign: “It’ll be, ‘When was the last time? Did you ever give drugs to anyone? Did you sell them to anyone?’ There are so many openings for Republican dirty tricks.” It is a tried and true tactic: floating an idea to which you claim to not personally ascribe, with the effect of getting the idea to circulate.
The next day, Clinton privately apologized to Obama for Shaheen’s comments and claimed she had nothing to do with them. Obama didn’t accept the apology because he believed Clinton’s campaign was circulating emails claiming he was a Muslim. According to Reggie Love, Obama’s personal assistant at the time: “The candidate [Obama] very respectfully told her the apology was kind, but largely meaningless, given the emails it was rumored her camp had been sending out labeling him as a Muslim.”
In February 2008, the Drudge Report posted a picture of Obama in traditional Kenyan/Somali clothes (including a turban, which helped reinforce the “secret Muslim” smear). Drudge said the picture was circulated by the Clinton campaign....

Like it or not your golden girl is beyond a hypocrite, and a liar. These 'attributes' maybe what you look for in a leader, but for me this makes her the worst of the worst kind of person. Just an elitist who will literally say or do anything to get what they want. This is the LAST person on the planet who should be considered for this office not one of the top two. The fact that she is in the top two speaks volumes to the decay of our collective values.

When is it ok for our leaders to be liars and hypocrites? when we as a people want to be liars and hypocrites.

What it is proof of is Clinton's claim that she has the support of our military, and trump is unfit to lead our military is another outright lie.

Quote:Nothing Trump does is for any other purpose than to benefit himself.
Two questions, how does this differ from what clinton does?
2, what if in office trump places himself in a position that what benefits him greatly benefits this nation first?

Quote:Evidence Trump has a billion-dollar empire. Oh, right. You can't possibly prove that because the man refuses to release his tax returns.
Don't have a business that has ever been audited by the IRS huh?? The goal is for your deductions to stick and you not to have to pay anymore than you already have. When they come they come hard and scrutinize everything. I can only imagine for someone like trump who has an 18,000 page return, there is a team looking at his holdings and spending. Now durning this return the IRS can go back at any point and re evaluate even place a freeze on all your assets if they suspect wrong doing.

Now if clinton has two working synapses she will hire her own accountant team and flood the media with suspected inproperity, which could tank trumps business.

Now, if he waits till the audit is over... they can't ever go back and re-audit him again.

Maybe you would like a leader who bows to peer pressure that jepodizes everything he or she is incharge of.. but to me this would be a deal breaker. He is doing the right thing even if the 'in crowd' demands other wise. The fact that he can stand up to the media and tell the f-u makes me like him that much more. What does clinton do under media scrutiny? she waits 12 hours to try and come up with a story that will allow her to be seen in the best light.

RE: Trump plays media
Drich, your orange colostomy bag of a vile demagogue appeals to your gullibility and fear. He's been condemned not just by democrats, but COLIN POWELL and 50 former REPUBLICAN law agents. Trump has called captured veterans losers, and done so running for the party that has obstructed and stopped several veterans bills in recent years. He has had fellow BILLIONAIRE Mark Cuban call his Jerry Springer tactics "Headline Porn". You can call us godless liberals commies all you want and stupidly believe that, but when you ignore his own party that makes you the worst fool and worse than those who are intent on harm for giving them cover.

He is using the language of a fascist, a despot. He is using the same language used against blacks in the age of segregation. The same demagoguery that was aimed at Chinese migrants whom helped build our railways in the 1800s. The same hate filled demagoguery that lead to innocent Japanese like George Takei who was a kid during WW2. The same hate that was aimed at the New York city Irish of "Hell's Kitchen". And just like the NRA has falsely sold for decades, and simply the same "Obama's coming for your guns" which never happened, he knows damned will that the Constitution has not ever allowed on individual politician to over turn ANY amendment. He fucking knows, and so does the NRA that it takes all 50 states as a 2/3rds majority vote to overturn an amendment.

He has a vice president running mate who is anti LGBT and a far right base who love guns too. Funny but the Islamic right also hates LGBT and loves weapons too.

Ever notice he's never attacked Michelle Obama? Attacks everyone but her. He is a fucking coward because if he truly believed that shit about all the "others" from Mexicans to Muslims to Veterans, he should be willing to go after her too because she endorses Hillary too and is campaigning for her too.

Trump is a very sick and dangerous man and this is no longer about party or economics. Trump is beyond a mere mudslinger, he is pandering to fear and that is toxic in politics. When you go from mere blasphemy to demagoguery you cease to be a mere blunt critic. and you become the very thing that leads to fascist states like North Korea and oppressive theocracies like Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Notice how you even bolded the part about "thinking and values."  Nowhere does it say anything about citizenship.

If you criticize Clinton for being an elitist but somehow think Trump isn't, you're even stupider than you've previously appeared to be(quite the feat I might add).

And the media only goes where the advertising revenue leads them, i.e., what the American people click on.  So, it's more that he's playing the American people.

But hey, you've got respect an elitist blowhard that just pulls shit out of his ass and is capable of getting dipshits like you to criticize Clinton for the very things he is guilty of, too.  Oh, wait, no you don't, because pandering to blithering idiots like you is so easy that a narcissistic billionaire that made his bones shitting on the little guy can convince you he's a man of the people.  It almost makes me want to vote Clinton just to make you simpletons piss yourself complaining for the next four years. Almost.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
