Actually it was, and is. That's the whole point.. Who the accused is, is supposed to be irrelevant, we're not -supposed- to be convicting them for who they are, and killing my daughter or killing some random homeless person is the same crime.
You want to know whether or not a parent would be furious, incapable of impartiality, ready to do the wrong thing? Yeah, ofc..that's why they can't be on the fucking jury in that trial. That's why we don't leave them in a room, alone, with the accused. We've already got one murder on our hands, no need to make it two.
