Share your favorite instrumentals. Classical music counts, so long as it doesn't have vocals.

With unqualified adoration: Bach's Cello Suites.
I've ended up with six different recordings of it over the years, and I have a seventh recording (Truls Mork) on the way in the mail.

Oh, Bach.
I love this version of Pachabel's Canon in D I knew of one better, but I can't find it to save my life.

Shell, was this other recording you mention longer (roughly 7 minutes long), at a slower tempo than this YouTube video?

No, as a matter of fact, I like the faster tempo on this. The other one may even be slightly faster. It is also, for lack of a better word, crisper.

Hm. I don't think I know that one...
My favorite rock instrumental might be "Fracture" by King Crimson:
The second part here still gives me fits (in a good way).
My favorite jazz instrumental: Charles Mingus' "Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting" (sadly, I can't seem to find a video online for this-- its on the album Blues & Roots from 1959)
In electronica: Articulate Silences (Part II) by Stars of the Lid-- this makes me feel so terribly sad:

In the early 1960's we all thought The Shadows were the shit.
In 1966 I discovered Chet Atkins, who was almost unknown here.
I still love "Sleepwalk".

The majority of Orbital's stuff is instrumental. And if you count vocals without words (IOW: Just harmonizing) then all but one of their songs is instrumental really.
So since there's too much to upload since instrumental music is my favourite, I'll just upload two song.
And since I have just spent the last 5 minutes unable to decide which two... I'm just going to shuffle my fully instrumental Orbital tracks and see what comes out at random.
Okay it's these two:

Both happen to be from their very first album. They're working on their 8th album at the moment.
