Plenty of smart people believe in, and risk themselves for, stupid bullshit.  Aside from having a misguided sense of courage, I don't see why they deserve praise.

Okay.  You're zooming into my example of a christian from China who is not the stereotype that previous posters were trying to create for those receiving christianity throughout the world.  

You mean she -doesn't- accept vicarious redemption through the blood sacrifice of your demi-god?

In fact, many of those parts of the world are gaining power and influence in the world.

What about Russia?  They've had the Orthodoxy since forever.  If they're switching to straight Christianity, then they're simply exchanging one form of woo for another.  Not knowing Russian politics, I can't help but wonder if Putin is driving part of it given his hard right stance on other things.

If you had provided the text..it would be hard to miss the opening sentence. You read it. Your compulsive need to disagree for christ, and for christ to win something, somewhere, however, was too strong to ignore.
