Who is to blame.

I hope not. Too expensive and probably won't be very effective anyway.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I know better, though, because they're my people...and I've -always- known them and every little suppressed hobgoblin of their minds has been clear to me since childhood, lol.  It wasn't just the money that will never materialize.....

.....all that other shit stroked something the left had told them was dirty.....and it felt soooooo good, especially since somebody else was saying it, and they didn't have to deflect the criticism personally.  That's what all this "PC" shit is about.     Wink

Well, I'm not sure how to define middle class, but my source was:

The census Bureau defines middle class above the $30k line, below the 100k line, roughly.
So yes, between 30 and 50 did break for clinton, but everyone in the demographic who made over 50k went (though only slightly) for Trump.  It was actually close to 50/50.
Those who made under $50k went Clinton.  I have other sources that say the same thing.

Seems like poorer people actually went for clinton, and the more middle class and well to do for Trump, though barely

Since we can see that nonwhite educated people overwhelmingly voted Clinton, I can see racism played a factor.  When the educated whites where closer to 50/50, they still went trump.  Though if you break out white women:

White women
43 Clinton
53 Trump
White women college graduates
51 Clinton
45 Trump
White women non-college graduates
34 Clinton
62 Trump

White women in general still voted Trump (thanks ladies), though educated women went for Clinton.  Non educated women overwhelmingly went Trump.
But we do know women can be just as sexist against women as men, so I'd still say it's pretty clear that sexism is a factor (looking at the college educated number of female's vs college educated males).

I'm probably just rambling at this point, lol.  There's so much info to process.

How does that work,  exactly ?

Keep up the blame game and you'll be sure to get the blame next time when it comes around back at you. Remember everything you are saying you hate from "the left"? Make sure you don't dish out what you can't take next time around.

This is why the blame game is a bad idea.

Thoughts?

Nice to see someone with some sense after what a complete sh*t show these past couple of days have been. I'm not a Trump voter, but all these accusations, insults, etc coming from the Hillary side is really getting old. It's making me just as glad that I didn't vote for her.

Hi hon,

That's what we've all been saying.  Sanders should have been on the ticket.  I take the blame even though I voted for Sanders, and even contributed to his campaign.  I know where he fault lies.  At least I won't say "hey, it's not MY fault".  Yeah, it's fucking my fault.  Did you watch the video?  I'm not sure you did.  Because you just did what he said caused it all.  Making it Hillarys side vs Trumps side.

We all live in an echo chamber thanks to FB and such.  Almost all of us.  I guess people hear what they want, and tune out the rest.  It's really pretty exhausting.  I know I do it all the time, it's really hard to make myself stop, but I'm trying to, right now.  But it's hard when everyone is angry and yelling at the "other" side.  I'm taking a good, hard look in the mirror and realizing that

But don't worry, it's not your fault, you didn't even vote for either of them, so you can safely wash your hands of it. (there, see, I just did it again too, but I don't know how not too.  We are all deplorable).  Undecided

I think you people are creating too much drama over this. It's just politics at the end of the day.

I watched. A lot of what he said was stuff that I was already thinking and trying to explain on the protest thread, mainly saying that everyone who votes for Trump is a racist, bigot, sexist, etc. That's just pushing people away.

PS- It's not your fault, as you said you voted Bernie in the primaries.

Maybe.

But is the "just politics"?

Teacher tells student her parents will be deported now that Trump is president

I don't think we are "creating too much drama", seems like it's happening and some people are just pointing it out.

Maybe we are feeding the monster, though.  Seems like a lose/lose situation.

If anything it proves that a solid portion of the general population is comfortable with that kind of rhetoric and a campaign mainly based on resentments and borderline racism.

This is a drama as far as democracy is concerned. There's precedence of how the results may look like. Hungary, Poland, Turkey or Russia, the Philippines. Don't say it can't happen in the USA. It can when the legislative branch is firmly in the hands of republicans and Trump gets to nominate a supreme court judge.

They may not be, but at the very least they don't mind. I don't think I would call them good people if they still voted for someone like that because he claimed to stand for one or two pet values of theirs. If the KKK and their former Grand Wizard David Duke endorsing Trump didn't ring any bells, there's obviously nothing reaching them in their apathy.
