I will say I believe that the proposed legislation is not necessary. The government does not need to protect a religious belief(s) any more that any other belief. Or to protect the "persons" ability to apply/in force that belief to others.

By minority I assume you mean every other race besides black people right? Because wasn't it the government that enslaved and brought in S-SA? Wasn't it the government who tried to ship them all back to Africa and south America? wasn't it the government segregated the black community from every other group?

If you honestly frame the role government has had on black people in history it is a good thing that the government is backing off.

Just look at EVERYOTHER Minority group in this country. What groups have had so much governmental control over them and at the same time what other minority group has done so poorly than black people in America?

I can't speak for every Asian, but as a whole, they/we do not need any special dispensation and this country has been at war with an Asian country for more that 75 years. So if there were a truly hated people/enemy of America in the last century 3/4 of it was spent killing Asians and asians killing americans, What other group has america deployed nuclear weapons on? And yet 'most' asians accel in this country. The same is true for middle easterners and even to a lessor extent (as far as rage/hate is concern) Latinos.

IF Asians made it in America (After being stripped of land, homes and possessions, then held in concentration camps during WWII) unless the government restrict you there is no reason you can not make it here.

Oh, yeah, comparing the plight of blacks and other minorities is totally valid.  It's not like blacks were the only minority to be declared 3/5 of a person in our constitution.

The Chinese immigration in from the west were not counted as people at all. The reason the blacks were counted was because of the sparsity of population in the southern states. Meaning it gave the southern states larger congressional representation. California at the time was not a state and no records of the incoming Chinese were even kept let alone counted as people.

 It's not like blacks were the majority of slaves.

Here the president and congresses passed laws restricting immigration and movement of Chinese people with out the proper 'papers' which were few were issued if one was not a doctor or highly educated/critical in some way. Without these papers it was illegal for a Chinese person to move about freely without being subject to arrest.

There are distinct limits. Let's say you're cynical ass wants to keep the Blacks out so you always deny them because they're "assholes".

All a prosecutor has to do is prove that you're practicing invidious discrimination through de facto refusal of service disproportionately towards Black clientele. The "asshole" excuse falls apart on using a sentinel (a person) to test the waters.
