Poll: Do you get what you pay for? Or are expensive things overpriced?
This poll is closed.
The cheaper, the better. Price is just a number.

You get what you pay for. The price of something is representative of how well-made it is.

In between. Price matters to a point, after that cutoff point it's just about status/novelty.

You get what you pay for...?

I could. There's one particular car that is worthy every cent. And surely you'll get more than what you've paid for.

I know people don't like it when I point stuff like this out...

But this poll is just useless. The options are such that only imbeciles would choose #1 or #2 over #3...

I mean seriously. Is this a circle jerk or what? I just hate this sort of confirmation bias type threads which nevertheless hide under the appearance of providing genuinely different viewpoints to be discussed.

What kind of discussion can emerge from this? You're setting this thread up for unanimous agreement and repetition of ideas. Garbage in, garbage out.

Depends. Some things you can go cheap like most groceries I never go name brand on but seriously have you tasted the cheap mac & cheese? No thank you, I need Velveeta or Kraft. No cheap shit for cheese.

Option #3. There is always a point of diminishing returns. If I have my choice between a loaf of bread for a dollar and one that costs two dollars, I'll generally buy the $2 loaf. That being said, I can't imagine the circumstances that would cause me to choose a $50 loaf over the $2 one.

Maybe it's because I'm a broke college student, but I buy everything as cheap as I can. Walmart-brand loaf of bread for 68 cents? Hell yeah. "Great Value toaster pastries" are $3 less than Pop Tarts? Sign me up. Generic brands for all OTC medications for sure. Ohhh I need some warmer clothes...better hit up Goodwill. I'm a savings fiend.

It depends a lot...
On somethings, you can go for the cheapest available and it will work well enough for your purposes.
But, most of the time, I go for the middle range... after some research.
On things that get to have specially priced brands, I can't justify the premium price.
Top of the line will always have a premium associated, too... might as well go for the half-price, but only a bit less quality; or wait until something newer comes along and then get what was once top-of-the-line. This goes for most consumer electronics, from computers, to phones, to TVs.

On food, well... we like to see it before we buy it.

Homeopathic remedies are all overpriced when compared to the cost of tap water.

Yes! Toilet paper is another one you can't skimp on!
