According to the Bible Jesus could write, because he wrote something in the sand at some point. Then again maybe he couldn't because we don't learn what he wrote, so maybe it was illegible. They just assumed it was angelic writing, so they were like "He Wrote In The Sand!"

I can only imagine how far he would have gotten, before he read what he had so far, and went, "Eh, nevermind..." and threw it away.
Of course, according to religious history, their god gave Moses the Torah, which had Moses's death in it. So he's not exactly the best editor of his works.

That particular passage in "john" is in the pericope adulterae. It is a much later forgery which does not appear in the earliest copies of the so-called gospel.
As usual, everything xtians say is shit.

That doesn't make it any less legit than the rest of the Gospel!

The notion that this was some sort of "peasant movement" is preposterous on its face. Ignorant peasants ekeing out a subsistence living would have had no time for jesus' bullshit. They'd have been too busy trying not to starve.
To be honest, a group of poor, miserable peasants sounds like the group that a messiah figure would appeal to.

More like the group that would tell stories about it regardless.

The writing in the sand Jesus is recorded doing by John content wasn't recorded in the Bible, and I'd wonder if any of the witnesses to it were literate to the extent to be able to discern mere 'doodles' from Jesus noodling out the Pythagorean theorem for example.
Additionally, anyone with fingers can 'write' pretty much anything they want in the dirt, and no one seems to be asserting Jesus nevertheless had the fine motor control/practiced dexterity in either of his hands to wield any scribe implements and put his thoughts to papyrus. And as we've noted, if he did, he wouldn't have been a carpenter.
As for Jesus and his reading skills, scripture records Jesus knew his way around a Torah, so any efforts to impugn His abilities in that regard to a Christian audience aren't going to progress very far. Not being able to write is a much surer bet.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

That Jesus didn't write the bible itself was a big part of why I never trusted the bible.
