William Craig caught in a lie.

I doubt he has ever convinced anyone of anything they didn't already believe.

Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I didn't watch, for a couple of reasons.

1. WLC has nothing to say that I want to hear - I've heard it all from him before, and there's isn't going to be anything new enough coming out of his cakehole to interest me.

2. If I DID watch him speak, I'd have to be hammer-drunk to get through it, and I'm not about to give up 16 years of sobriety for this yammerhead.

It's not like I am sending him email, fan mail or trying to call him up on the phone.   Tongue

Besides, all of my posts about Craig have been original; it's just that there has been SO much material!!

I think it's not so much a lie. It's just that he tries to talk about subjects he has a very poor understanding of.

I think that Craig is autistic.  Listen to his debate with Professor Millican in its entirety.  He says something to the effect (when quoting Vilenkin) about the "BGV Theorem's sweeping generality..." and Craig goes on to "conclude" that the BGV Theorem would still apply in any physical theory of gravitation, which is not what Vilenkin said.  In fact, the BGV Theorem has assumptions (as Professor Sean Carroll rightly pointed out in his debate with Craig), which, if violated, can violate the Theorem.

It is ironic to me that Craig accepts the proof of the BGV Theorem, with its physical assumptions, yet rejects the proofs of Cantor regarding infinite sets, even though the latter have no physical assumptions whatsoever!

I think that Craig isn't autistic he is a fucking con artist. He doesn't believe in the bullshit that he himself is selling.

RE: William Craig caught in a lie.
I am not bashing folks with autism.  In fact, one of my sons has been diagnosed with that.  He has, however, problems processing information.  Sometimes we have to tell him the same thing several times before it "sinks in".  Craig seems like he is in the same camp.

I don't fault people who have issues with their brains.  I am not perfect, either; no one is.
