Apparently you hadn't heard of Robertson until a few days ago. Not alone did he use people's gullibility to enrich himself, he also literally defrauded them, setting up a fake charity in order to fund the shipping of blood diamons out of the Congi (then Zaire).

No, never heard of the 700 club. I did look up pat robertson last night. Looks like he was a southern Baptist minister who had his own TV show. Never watched it. I have heard of Joel Osteen and seen hiM on TV while channel surfing, but never stopped to watch that, either.

I've often thought that Joel Osteen looks just like Butthead from Beavis & Butthead.

If anything, I would say gay ppl have less culpability for their sexual sins than straight ppl do. All us straight ppl need to do is wait until we're married and not have sex with anyone else besides our spouse. That's nothing at all compared to what is asked of gay folks. Gay folks are expected to not only never do anything sexual ever, but also to give up the idea of a loving life long relationship with a significant other and have a family. That's a lot to ask of someone, and so i have nothing but compassion and understanding for you.

It would probably help by not calling gay people's attraction for each other a "sin."

The sin of lust in the christian sense does not mean attraction. You can look at another woman who is not your wife, find them attractive, and go on about your day. Or you can look at that woman and start undressing her in your mind, fantasising about having sex with her, and essentially reducing her to a sexual object in your perception. The latter is what we consider sinful. Not the former.
