P.S. Do a compare sometime between the Republic of today and the Monarchy prior to the Revolution. I will promise to read it.
You're missing the point entirely. Someone having to run on a wood stove won't have the dosh to fork out for smoke alarms. Which in turn got nothing to do with them being religious or not.
I've made my point and I am done posting on this thread; it is just too upsetting. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Wood stoves are dangerous, especially, those located on the second floor of a home. But, such is the mentality of some conservative religious folk.
Uh wood stoves on the second floor have nothing to do with Catholicism or political affiliation lol.

This entire thread confuses me. But mostly, just sad to read. The survivors will surely suffer greatly, too.
No, but it's a stupid thing, and conservative religious people are known for their stupidity, something that no one, atheists included, are completely immune from, but the trend is more on the side of the stupid, religious conservatives than it is on Our side.
Ah I see.
You're using this horrible tragedy as a way to bash Catholicism by saying they died because they're stupid because they're Catholic.
Sickening.

Religion is a sickness, Catholicism in particular. I have more respect for a typical drug user; at least they admit that theirs is a chemical fantasy as opposed to an intellectual one.

It's not at all surprising to me to see these types of people believing that they don't need smoke alarms in their homes. What a pity!
And the connection between not wanting government assistance and not having a smoke detectors is?
Exactly. Because at any given time, you can literally go to your local fire department, tell them you need smoke detectors for your home and they will GIVE them to you.
Also... if you rent it is a requirement that your landlord provide WORKING smoke detectors in your home. You must supply batteries, but the detectors must be functioning at the time you sign a lease.

I don't give a FUCK. You can say Catholics are the sick equivalence of drug addicts all you want, for all I care. But this?? This stunt you pulled is what infuriates me.
Children just got burned to death, you cold hearted man. Children. Got burned alive. Along with a woman.
And what do you do? You post about it here for the sole purpose of somehow proving that Catholics are stupid, because that family is Catholic and died in a fire. You're using the death of women and children as a means of attacking their faith. That is sick twisted, and disgusting. Not only is there a complete lack of empathy and humanity on your part, but you do the opposite, by going in for the attack and using their tragedy against them.

Even if you could link their deaths to their religion (and really, I don't think you can), that's victim blaming at it's lowest. This is no different than saying overweight people are asking to die of heart attacks and diabetes, or that gay people deserve AIDS.
P.S. CL, I knew there was no correlation, of course, it was a rhetorical question meant to point out how stupid it was to act like tragedy this had anything to do with their religion. Internet sarcasm fail, I guess.
