Yeah, Ayn Rand Ryan as president doesn't warm the cockles of my heart, either.

The GOP line of succession, the gift that keeps on giving. How many have to get arrested or run over by buses until there's someone who's not a human shaped toad?
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Personally, I think he needs to go too since there's no way he couldn't have known about the goings on with Trump. Guilt by association. Get rid of them both. I think it's very plausible that Pence is clueless about this. He doesn't come from Trump's inner circle, there's no close friendships between him and transition staff, and VPs historically are locked out of the information/decision-making processes. I would rather Trump stay in office. It makes 2018 that much more problematic for the Republicans, and that in turn may mean the difference between Trump getting one SCOTUS nomination or getting three.
@Alex:
If the POTUS position becomes vacant, the VP would assume the role for the remainder of the trem. If that position falls through, ten yes, the person in the seat you mentioned, would get the presidency. @Thump: The problem is, how long do the "little people" have to suffer under such a heartless and narcissistic régime? I lost my SSI and despite the fact that I got my physical license to practice cosmetology, I still have not secured a job with the one place I want to work at. Primarily, their benefits package is what I need, but I can't be sitting around too much longer. This student loans will be coming due in About five months. I don't like trump in office. He's bad for the lower and middle class people. I'm afraid it's only going to get worse the longer he stays in office. Disclaimer: I am only responsible for what I say, not what you choose to understand.

Don't get me wrong -- I know Trump's presidency will be a malign influence on the working class. But don't fool yourself about him either: this is the Republican agenda. This is why the "party of family values" sold their souls and nominated a self-confessed pussy-grabber -- they wanted someone who would sign any legislation that they could get to his desk. Pence would do the same thing (volunteer to be a figurehead, a puppet, or even be so stupid as to be used as such without even recognizing it). VPs and VP candidates are historically speaking treated with distance by POTUS and staff with a couple of notable exceptions. Pence doesn't seem to me to be too far inside the inner circle. Now, if Ford Pence is smart, he'll stay far outside that inner circle. The way things are going, he'll be POTUS 46 before 2020. The GOP had damned well better hope so because there is virtually no chance of a Trump re-election.
What makes you think the dems wouldn't run an Anthony Wiener (or worse) in 2020 ??
I'm already convinced they are still looking at a 2020 presidential victory as an entitlement, not as something that is going to require any particular strategy or expenditure of any effort. Sure, they are going to exhort the followers to redouble the financial input, but twice as much $$$ can be pissed away twice as fast without half as much 'success' as last time. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
