There is no benefit at all. Because
1. god always gets his way
2. even when god doesn't get his way he gets his away anyways.

like with the Pharaoh he would let moses and his people go without any trouble.
but god didn't want that he wanted moses and his people persecuted so he could get in on some smiting action and controlled the Pharaoh
in turn moses wasn't free. Then moses had to use god against himself so he could free them.. which makes no god damned sense...
