Because they aren't inspired?

Ultimately the theme of the Old Testament is the Law, and the Theme of the New Testament is Grace, what do the books you mentioned add?

How do you know that they are not inspired?

I want everyone to read the end of the Gospel of Thomas:

Quote:113. His disciples said to him, "When will the kingdom come?"

"It will not come by watching for it. It will not be said, 'Look, here!' or 'Look, there!' Rather, the Father's kingdom is spread out upon the earth, and people don't see it."

[Saying probably added to the original collection at a later date:]

114. Simon Peter said to them, "Make Mary leave us, for females don't deserve life."

Jesus said, "Look, I will guide her to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males. For every female who makes herself male will enter the kingdom of Heaven."

I know Christians are seldom if ever, embarrassed by the unbelievable bullshit that makes up 99% of the bible, but this:

Quote:In the text Peter performs miracles such as resurrecting smoked fish, and making dogs talk.

Might be too much even for the fundies. A talking, walking dog, no problem. A resurrected fish? That might be just too much for the poor dears.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Are you kidding? They love red herrings.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Remember, Alpha and Omega is a 14th Century word combination = http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?allo...arch=alpha

http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?allo...arch=omega

Consequently, you may not be able to find that phrase in a 8th Century Bible.

I'm thinking a fish smoked over a brimstone fire would be pretty disgusting, regardless if it reanimated or not . . .
