I'm going to assume you live in a state that did not expand Medicaid coverage under the ACA. Thank God for conservative economics, eh?

None of what you said is the fault of democrats.

Obama would have done far better if he had a congress to work with. The GOP stuck him with the only options he had.

This is purely about too many monopolies, and America has been doing a shitty job since Reagan started the age of deregulation. And it also has to do with corporate welfare. All other budgets get cut to fund tax breaks for billionaires. So if you wonder why you cant get aid from medicaid, that is the reason. That and worker pay is not keeping up with the cost of living.

What you are now bitching about has been championed by the GOP since Reagan.

If you go look at charts of the balance of power since Reagan.,  the GOP has ON AVERAGE held the majority of all three branches far more than Dems.

I just heard a funny analogy about the GOP trying to undue the ACA on PBS News Hour, the guest commented.

No. Actually our GOP state did expand Medicaid. It's liberal economics that's fucking over the working class, especially the working poor.

Ok, so public healthcare is not accessible for you.  Private healthcare is not accessible for you.  Doesn't this fairly scream at you that something needs to be done?

Also, members of the US congress are mandated to obtained their health insurance via Obamacare exchanges.

The answer to your problem - and everyone elses problem - is a National Health Care System...  you know, "socialism."  That shouldn't worry you too much.  After all your boy Hitler inherited a National Health Care system from his Weimar predecessors... and they inhereited one that was originated by Bismarck in the 1880's.

Oddly, Bismarck thought that "a little socialism" would forestall a much larger "scoailist" revolution.  Odd how things change, huh?

Obamacare was passed when the dems had control of the congress. You know, you have to pass the bill to find out what's in it. Even the dumbass dems didn't know what they were voting on. Then they lost both Houses in the next elections.

As far as your second part, yup. Seven years yapping their asses off about repealing Obamacare and then doing jack shit when they have the chance. No argument there.

We made too much money to qualify for Obamacare a few years ago but had to get it through the market as my job didn't offer it. Our premiums were affordable and our deductible was $2k.

It seems like it really depends on where you live. Massachusetts implemented it well.

No. Actually our GOP state did expand Medicaid. It's liberal economics that's fucking over the working class, especially the working poor.

We are talking about national averages, not individual state budgets.

Their marketing has always been "don't tax the rich", same fucking bullshit they pull with calling the ACA "Obamacare"

GOP voter goes, "I don't want that"

Then they end up still taking federal money and call it something else in their own state.

OF course they do that because they don't want to piss off their god/guns and bible base.

It is a bait and switch.

Now here is the crux, I could give a shit less if they say they did expand medicaid. That still requires taxes to fund, and if the billionaires aren't paying their share, guess who is paying for that expansion? The middle class and the poor, so you are still ending up with a long term deficit because of corporate welfare and you are getting stuck with the bill.

The GOP loves to use the words "entitlements" what the fuck do you think they mean by that? Medicaid/Medicare/social security and food stamps.

It never ceases to amaze me what masters the GOP are in getting gullible people like you to vote against their own self interests.

Cant have it both ways, cant claim medicaid was expanded by the GOP then at the same time that they call that "entitlements". Either you want it or you don't. If you do want it then you should not be voting for a party that calls it an entitlement because that is a slur they use to get votes by vilifying medicaid.

You are not getting it. You cant afford what work would provide, you cant afford out of pocket and you don''t qualify for medicaid. I AGREE AND YES THAT SUCKS, but the GOP made it that way over 36 years of holding our government hostage.

Some of us, the working poor, can't afford the national health care system we now have. We pay into it, but don't benefit from it. I'm glad that you can afford it, though, Mr. Minimalist Money Bags Trump.

RE: Skinny Repeal Goes Down The Shitter, Too.
In TN, before the state expanded medicaid, my Premiums for a $5k deductible plan were $120/month, which was barely affordable for me, but doable.

Now, after Medicaid expansion, my deductible is the same, I have $20 copays, and my premium is $54/month.

It's a shitty plan, but it won't bankrupt me if something happens. I don't make a lot of money (any right now, back in school for 4 more months) so I qualify.

I'd gladly trade the "freedom" of getting gouged by an insurance company for slightly higher taxes for everyone and full coverage. The free market is great in most cases, but not healthcare. Profit motives in healthcare do not lead to positive outcomes for the most needy.
