The undeniable miracle at Fatima
RE: The undeniable miracle at Fatima
(August 12, 2017 at 2:27 pm)pabsta Wrote: Amazing looking back at this discussion at the double standards followed by the atheists. "Atheist forums: where double standards are THE standard!!"

Thousands of testimonials from a group of people are declared unreliable. Yet if an atheist thinks he has heard a rumor that someone at Fatima DIDN'T see something, suddenly that one testimonial has all the value in the world! You think people don't see this double standard? It's also interesting how not a single person in this discussion supported their argument that there were people at Fatima who didn't see anything. Now we all know why that is now don't we ???? Because the testimonials say the opposite. But then testimonials are no good, so you are back to square one. You are living a lie people.

Another atheist double standard: they don't trust testimonials or anything written that they don't personally find appealing, yet continuously throughout this conversation they pull up random quotes from random websites and post them with complete trust without even looking into the sources that were used to create those websites. Then they say, "SEE!, there's the proof!". You people are nothing but hypocrites and everyone sees it.

And most amazing of all, you have to love all the vulgarities and insults that appear post to post - they so eloquently flow out of your mouths and make your posts SO much more convincing. Not. Do you have ANY idea how much this makes you look like imbeciles and destroys your credibility? A simple example: if I ask a teenage kid, "what's 8x9?", and he immediately responds back with, "Get the #$%^ out of here you &($#", what would that immediately tell you? It would immediately tell you that he doesnt know the answer and that he is embarrassed that you put him on the spot, otherwise he would've just given the answer. 98% of the posts in this asylum are the same way - full of vulgarities and insults right out of the gate because you guys have no solid answers. You make up answers on-the-fly and just throw them out there and they are batted down immediately. Pretty ridiculous.

I always used to wonder why atheists are always so angry and bitter, but now it's more obvious to me. You guys are constantly fighting your consciences when facts are pointed out to you. It's a never-ending internal struggle that can never lead to happiness. Then you spend much of your life in dark dungeons like this place, and even if you have some good questions in mind, you are fueled by peer pressure to squash them and instead type vulgarities and insults in their place. You stay on the couch and don't even look into things except through random websites that you don't even confirm the authenticity of. You'll notice people who have religion in their lives are HAPPY. It's not normal to be walking around bitter and angry 24/7 - Time to wake up guys.

Get bent PBR. It's been exhaustively explained to you why we consider testimonials unreliable. Don't like it? Not our fucking problem.

After repeatedly explaining things and trying to reason with shit stain and getting absolutely nowhere, can anyone really blame the frustrations displayed by us? Nope.

And for the umpteenth time - shit stain - you didn't start this thread with the intention or interest in wanting an atheist opinion. Your sole MO, or purpose, was to cause conflict and incite anger among the members of this forum, all so you could jerk off to it in some deeply disturbed satisfaction that it gives you.

Your intentions to be here are dishonorable, disingenuous and you can rightly go fuck off.
You give good, decent religious people a bad name.

Q: How do you know X happened?
A: Because B said so.
Q: How do you know B is giving reliable testimony?
A: Because C said so.
Q: How do you know C is giving reliable testimony about B?
A: Because D said so.
Q: How do you know D is giving reliable testimony about C?
A: Because E said so.

If you don't see that this renders testimony utterly moot, you don't belong in this world.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

So to be clear, everyone - according to you - rejected the story initially, yet went anyway and saw nothing, and still they kept coming back for weeks to keep seeing nothing?

And a European government in the 20th century was going to execute children.

And everything else was a bizarre supernatural event.

Assertion

That's not a rumour i gave my sources and they gave there sources  . As for double standards nope we pointing out your pointing out your standard can be used against you. It does not matter to us  if people saw nothing . But it should matter to you because your whole case is based on it . not ours thus were not relying on testimony were only using it against you .

You clearly did not read them because they also give there sources . And as far as I have seen site quotes have also been cited so your wrong about it just being random quotes . So your charge stands on nothing .

We answered all your tripe the fact we don't do it in way you prefer is of no concern unless like you your overly sensitive . As for what it tells me it tells me they don't think much of my argument and perhaps there right. And if dozens of people over multiple posts continue said commentary then maybe then fault lies with me  . Nope our answers are well thought through and sourced . But if this is your assessment rather then empty rhetoric then there is the door . The fact you felt the need to go on this little eludes me .

And cheap psycho babble forged of pure opinion . Assertion about sources we do validate . And presumptions about our lives offline and the state of our questioning . And you wonder why people don't like you.

Atheist Forums - denying the undeniable, disputing the indisputable and effing the ineffable since 2008.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Any perceived double standards in our posts are far outweighed by the unmitigated arrogance in yours. Such a fine representative of catholic xtian love and tolerance! Maybe someone should have taught you that throwing your weight around and lashing out at others isn't the way to get them on your side. Isn't there something, somewhere, about removing the plank from your own eye before complaining about motes in other people's? They're your rules, after all; either abide by them or give up the whole thing if such a simple one is so hard for you. Just saying.
