We have the capability to totally flatten North Korea and reduce it to a burned out cinder numerous times over.

You better hope that if there were a conflict we could hit them first before anything reaches us, then hope we have an agreement with China over a conventional war. That would be the only way our species would survive. The better option is diplomacy.
We've tried diplomacy and the "All options are on the table" threat over the last 20+ years to dissuade NOKO from developing nuclear weapons. Nevertheless, NOKO developed nukes and delivery systems anyway and are threatening Guam, Japan and SOKO. It's evident that diplomacy and vague threats hasn't worked with NOKO. Don't be such a naive goof ass.

Exactly what is it you think that inept asshole 45 is going to figure out that all the past presidents for the last 50 years have not.?
No, sorry, there are no good options that will be bloodless. Nukes or no nukes a armed conflict will cause massive death even if only kept on that peninsula. The more likely outcome again if we start an armed conflict is that sure, we cold create a power vacuum in North Korea, but as I said before, if we do that China is going to want to fill it and BOOM suddenly we are at war with them too. Then you wont have to worry about North Korea shooting nukes at us, you'd have to worry about China.

Now dipshit, how are you going to deal with diplomacy under those conditions because when you are at war diplomacy is harder to come by and sanctions won't work against China.

Again, there is a hell of a lot more than "shoot first" and "just do it" or did you not learn a damned thing from Bush Jr's fuck ups?

The only way to make an armed conflict with North Korea with the least amount of death would to be to make a deal with China, and if you think that is going to happen you are fooling yourself. We start a war with North Korea this wont be like Iraq or Afghanistan. A war with North Korea will make those two wars look like a little girls play date tea party.

It will be a massive bloodbath including civilians in Soul, INCLUDING CHILDREN, not just our soldiers or South Korea's soldiers, and that could trigger WW3. Because if we go in, we will start asking our allies to go in too, then China will get their allies to join in and so on.

What is it with theists and their love of violence and death?

And just so everyone's clear, since there seems to be some confusion about what a full-on nuclear war would entail, here's a famous British film called Threads, a film made in 1984 showing, in gruesome detail, what we can expect from a full-on nuclear exchange.

Remember when The Day After aired, and it scared the crap out of America, up to and including inspiring Ronald Reagan to reach a deal with Gorbachev at Reykjavik, something that Reagan would later admit was inspired by the film? At the end, they said it was actually a toned-down version of what to expect. Threads, however, wasn't. An army of scientific advisors were involved, including Carl Sagan, and they created an even bleaker, but even more brutally honest picture of what to expect. And in the 33 years since it aired, the science behind it still holds up, and the only exception is the assumption that the Ozone Layer won't be able to rebuild itself in the absence of pollutants (and even then, there's still some dispute about that.)

But, really, if that's what you really want, I'm not going to judge you for that. I just want to be sure you know what you're going to be damning the rest of humanity to if the worst comes to worst.

Really, it's been known for decades that the effects of even a very limited nuclear exchange would be catastrophic. Here's an assessment made by the US Government in the 1970s detailing a limited exchange on Detroit. (spoiler alert: shit will be horrible, and immediate casualties may very well end up dwarfing those of the battle of Stalingrad, the bloodiest battle in history, even in the best-case nuclear scenario)

I'm just saying there's a reason we haven't actually used our nukes in 72 years and one day and most of our Commanders-in-Chief have known it. Can the Pentagon teach Trump what that reason is? Will he care?

Yup. I sure do remember that movie. But, anyway, where did I say that I wanted to see a nuclear war with NOKO? My point was that we tried diplomacy and strategic patience with North Korea for the better part of thirty years, from Bill Cinton to George Bush, and to Barack Obama, to persuade them not to develop nuclear weapons. Fast forward to now, NOKO still developed nuclear weapons and the delivery systems to launch them and have been threatening to strike the U.S. and our territories and Japan and South Korea. Better than thirty years of appeasement, diplomacy, and empty threats hasn't deterred North Korea from developing nuclear weapons, and now they're a threat. The failures of the past three presidents over NOKO has been passed down to President Trump. This time the approach with North Korea is different, considering the failures of diplomacy over the last thirty plus years. Trump issued the warning to NOKO, if they continue to threaten us, to attack Guam and our Japanese and South
Korean allies they'll be met with a powerful response from us. It's up to North Korea now. Do they want peace or do they want to risk destruction.

Actually, AT, My post was directed more towards Dropship, who actually does seem to be more interested in seeing us use our nukes.

Millions if not billions will die if that fuckface triggers WW3.

There is not 1 nation on this planet, a world war will effect EVERYONE so stop being so fucking narcissistic. Neither Kim's ego or 45s ego, the egos of 2 individuals do not have the right to put the rest of our species in jeopardy.

Get your fucking lazy ass out of the house and get a job. Get off the damn computer and get out in the real world. Stop being such a naive little twat.

The choice is Kim Jung Un's. Does he want peace or destruction.

You really should spend time with WW2 vets and civilians and Jews who saw death live. You have not goddamn fucking clue what you are supporting.

1 man's ego is not the center of the planet.

50 million humans on all sides of WW2 lost their lives. If that orange fuckface triggers WW3 50 million will look like a drop in the bucket.

THIS IS NOT A FUCKING GAME.

He has no deal with China if he does that. He has no exit strategy either even if he was successful.

That fucker is simply a jackass baby playing with matches.

You want to get yourself killed, go join the military. But I live on this planet too so forgive me for giving a fuck.

No he is a brat, he has always been controlled by China. The Kim family is not interested in a war, they know they can be toppled quite easily. THE PROBLEM wills still be the amount of death and China in turn starting a war with us to fill any void we create by knocking Un off.

Our presidents prior to that man baby squatting in the WH shitting all over it, has no fucking clue what he is doing. Reagan did JFK DID and both of them faced the same specter of a nuclear war.

I would trust even Pence not to go that far. 45 is simply a dangerous nutfuck who wants to stroke his own ego.

He may be a brat, but he is not controlled by china. If he was, he wouldn't have nuclear weapons. But he is still valuable to china. It's not just the Chinese don't want millions of refugees. That's just a face saving excuse for propping up a despotic regime in the name of humanitarianism. The fear of flood of refugees is not completely fictitious. But china could easily seal the border.

The real reason even a recalcitrant North Korea is valuable to china is simply it saves china the expense and bad publicity of occupying party of Korea while still securely keeping the Americans far away.

Bullshit.

If he was not being controlled by China, then why did they vote with us for more sanctions?

The Kim family is not interested in a war. Again, they are only interested in keeping power. The have been bluffing for decades.

And again, nobody has offered me anything new here that Obama, Bush Jr, Bill Clinton, Bush Sr, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, JFK ect have all also had to deal with North Korea.

If you are foolish enough to think 45 can do any better, sorry, no polite way to put it, you are playing with fire and supporting a dangerous madman.

We knock the Kim family out China is going to compete to fill that void we create, which will cause us to go to war with China.

Now, unless 45 can make some deal with them then it is pointless and dangerous to bust NK up.
