Trump or Kim?

No matter, if one is led by a panty sniffer, it softens the blow of being outmaneuvered by another panty sniffer.

Yeah, but who doesn't?  That's so vanilla.  Remember, the use he wanted to put the Russian prostitutes to was peeing on him.  Subconsciously he must realize how vile he really is.

I have a beautiful bridge for you to buy.  20% off because I like you.

Let's see, their ultimate goal is regime survival.  Their method is nuclear deterrent.   They can't give a rat's ass about Guam. Guam is just a convenient way for them to letting the world know they can hit the US.

Our ultimate goal is probably regime change,  our method is throught preventing them from getting an effective nuclear deterrent.  We've had Guam for 120 years.

So  where does their backing down get us?

They keep their nuclear deterrent.  No regime change in sight.  They promise not to attack what they don't give a rat's ass about.  We manage to get them to affirm they will not attack, for now, what they don't care about and we've already had anyway for 120 years, thus confirming for the world what Kim wants the world to know, that Kim can attack the US, and only agreed, as if his agreement is a valuable thing, to abstain from doing so.

Yeah, we won.  A few more victories like this and they might even promise not to nuke the Washington monument.

There was always almost nothing we could have done to prevent them from consolidating and expanding their nuclear deterrent.   But the tantrum we threw is absolute own goal, because it made our powerlessness, and out futile frustration at out powerlessness, the headline news everywhere in the world.

Just as people say, it is better to keep your mouth shut and let people suspect you are an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt, so it is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think your are powerless, than to throw a ineffectual tantrum and remove all doubt.

The fuckhead Kim backed down. Barack opened his big ass mouth and threatened Assad with a " Red Line" if he used chemical weapons. Assad saw Barack for the coward he was and used chemical weapons anyway. There's a beautiful never used Red Line you can buy for very cheap, because it never worked.

You know how in 1864, Ulysses Grant kept losing skirmishes but kept advancing,  while Robert Lee kept winning skirmishes but had to keep retreating towards Richmond?  It was not Grant who had to surrender at Appomattox.

Guam is an insignificant skirmish where we won, but while losing the skirmish Kim advanced his nuclear capability, while we retreated.   Kim will soon be able to hit our Richmond, the continental US, with nuclear weapons.

The difference between trump in North Korea and Obama in Syria, is obama's back was not against Richmond.

Not really. They never intended a first strike in the first place, just to show an increasingly belligerent US* that they now had nukes and could deliver them a serious distance, to Guam, say. Once that was done, there really was no point stoking the flames further.

You see while both the US and DPRK are both lead by evil bastards, the Korean bastard has a certain level of intelligence and enough self-awareness to pull back from the very brink.

Must be a terrible disappointment to a miserable little shit like you.  I'm sure you were wanking furiously at the thought of all the slopes getting nuked.

US foreign policy is to indulge in wishful thinking about the direct consequence of muscular bullying actions, while refusing to recognize the possibility of any unintended consequences, then throw a tantrum when unintended consequence comes home to roost.

I think it is no exaggeration to say not a single elective American military intervention, or overt and covert regime change efforts since 2001, has produced its desired direct result, or has failed to lead to unintended consequences many times worse for the US than the results it did achieve.
