The Bible is a contradictory mess. It's not possible to believe in every word of it even if you're a complete literallist for the same reason that it's not possible to believe that something is both a square and a circle or both 4 and 5 or anything else that's logically incompatible. It's possible to believe that you believe in something contradictory... but you can't actually believe in a contradiction (well, obviously you can believe that a contradiction exists. I mean that you can't believe that X 100% is and X 100% isn't at the same time).

I was just pointing out how anyone claiming to believe anything about the mythology, since the only source of it is those various translations, is inevitably a hypocrite. Which is what I've been saying from the beginning. So it just makes horsefeathers of anyone saying they're a Xtian when no one has a clear definition of it. If that's not a recipe for insanity, I'd like to see what is.
