Trump is certainly worse, but Hillary did herself no favours by talking about blowing up embassies and things like that. Made people think she was completely bat shit insane, and that's on her.

Actually I think that Bill Maher nailed it.  Progressives cannot seem to understand the difference between an "imperfect friend" and a "deadly enemy."  They cannot deal with the fact that no one is perfect.

Hillary admitted to saying it (asking why Assange couldn't just be eliminated via drone strike). I agree that Hillary is a poor source when looking for the truth 99.9 % of the time, but this time I'll take her word for it

Yep, I have a neighbor who is a staunch democrat but seems obsessed with morality.  It is actually a little painful to discuss politics with him since I've always leaned democratic as much as a limitation in the choices as in any sense that they represent the best of all political worlds.  Not sure how you instill greater regard for the possible and more tolerance for imperfection.

I just looked it up again, and she didn't technically admit it, but said "it would have been a joke if it had been said", which is basically an admission. She said it. Racist whites are not the reason Trump got in. Hillary is the reason, and you sound like a Trump fan claiming that these things against her are fake or poorly sourced (my apologies if you had just never heard that story before and just didn't know).

I said Trump is worse. I'm just pointing out that Hillary said some really bat shit insane things too, which caused people to wrongly think that she was just as bad as him, but if she wasn't acting so bat shit insane, maybe it would've been easier for people to see that she wasn't as bad as him. If she didn't call blacks super predators, maybe Trump wouldn't have gotten such an increase in support from the black community in comparison to others like McCain and Romney. A lot of this falls on Hillary is all I'm saying.

Really, Ambrose Bierce once said "RADICALISM, n. The conservatism of tomorrow injected into the affairs of toDAY." I honestly get the feeling that, in a European country, she'd probably be the second coming of Thatcher (perhaps Angela Merkel, if you're being charitable).

When it comes to foreign policy, she's basically Dubya with a power cut; is anti-immigration (if less virulently so than Trump); has a history of flip-flopping on issues like gay rights, the war on drugs, and criminal justice; and, while she talks a good game about taking power from the corporations, when it asked to choose between the needs of the people and the desires of corporations, the people should expect to be disappointed.

But that said, the Republicans since the Obama administration have brought the discussion to regressive depths the likes of which haven't been seen since Jim Crow.

And Trump is making it worse because he's basically Nikolai Stavrogin from Dostoevsky's Demons with an orange wig and a bad tan, and most disturbingly, real political power. And it's like he's hell-bent on turning America into a playground for evil.
