Mass shooting in Las Vegas. 50+ dead

RE: Mass shooting in Las Vegas. 50+ dead
Hearing that the shooter checked in on 9-28, had two firing platforms set up and cameras to monitor his surroundings.

As true as that may be.... people are going to obtain illegal guns. Automatic or not.

And they also buy them legally then go on to commit murder too. So the issue isn't legal vs illegal, the issue is access.

The Va Tech shooter had no record at time of buy. I hate this crap assuming every shooting is committed with an illegally obtained gun. Most firearm deaths are in the home from suicide, accident and domestic violence.

Mass shootings are a fraction of firearm deaths. You are far more likely to die in your home or neighborhood than you are in a mass shooting. But pretty fucking sad that America has 36,000 firearm deaths per year of all kinds. Pretty fucking sad that even after Columbine and Newton, ect ect ect, nothing gets done.

I'm sorry but if the right's versions of laws worked, we wouldn't see this shit year after year decade after decade.

I don't want to hear "thoughts and prayers". I don't want to hear, "sell more and do nothing".

If this does not create stricter federal gun controls or bans then congress/americans are fucking nuts.

That won't happen with the current allocation of political power.

We'll see, hoping that sanity and reason will win the day.

The NRA, not the gun companies, just the NRA, spent more than $28 million on the midterm elections in 2014. Guess who got >90% of that money?

The reason nothing gets done, even after dozens of toddlers in a grade school get their heads blown off and mowed in half, the reason nothing ever gets done, is for one reason and one reason only.

MONEY. The factories have exceeded in using fear marketing to protect their profit margins and expand their market.

Fear sells firearms. Violence sells firearms.

Pit the voters against each other, pit cops against society and society against cops, the factories profit of the fear and division they keep their flooded market, expand their profits and sell to both cops and society.

This isn't just an issue of accessibility. It is also an issue of legal vs illegal. Accessibility isn't mutually exclusive to this problem or this crime. All possible factors should be considered here as I'm sure it will be during the investigation.

Where did I say it was committed with an illegally obtained gun? I was making a comment about how  people can get guns, not about whether or not the spree was committed with an illegal gun.

That's just horrible and terrifying.
Guns is only part of the problem, in my opinion.
Mental health checks and treatment should be free for all.

Not the point. Firearms are products made by private industry, and like any private industry the CEO's goal is to keep and expand profits to attract shareholders. Just like Wells Fargo only got a slap on the wrist, we have allowed for far too long the corporate world to bully the rest of us.

The same reason we have our pay gap too. We have allowed the top to bully society and economic free for all with no accountability.

The worst thing congress did was to make it impossible to sue the factories.

Now when I say sue, I don't mean ban, but they should be sued for their marketing, just like big tobacco was sued and forced to stop marketing the way they were.

Considering age, wonder if the medical history of the shooter is significant. Brain tumor springs to mind. Just heard report shooter was a pilot, a position requiring medical checks so there might be something to review here. They can CAT scan the corpse too.

I'm also anticipating Pat Robertson and Westboro Baptist to say something incredibly offensive.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
