No he did not have access to an auto fire weapon no his gun was not modified to fire automatically. he got one round per trigger pull. the same thing happens in a double action revolver. he simply figured out how to pull the trigger faster.

Why would you want one if you were going to war?  Their only point is to simulate an action that has been made in-accessible to most civilian shooters.

I love......LOVE automatic weapons. Some of my best memories revolve around a belt fed machine gun. I still think that they should be heavily restricted. If the company that sells the mod wants to claim that they can produce the effect of a machine gun, or any full auto, then they should be subject to the same restrictions.

Actually I agree, but the fact that they did that means we are pushing back, and that back peddle is more than we have seen in decades.
