I don't support outright bans on any type of small arms.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't support a lot of other types of new gun control legislation. That might even include putting "modern sporting rifles" in a registry similar to the current NFA registry.

I don't see why sane firearm owners would not want mental evals for all firearm buyers. If you are not disturbed, you'd pass. Just like you'd want our cops and military passing a mental eval.

Nor do you need huge clips for riffles or firearms.

Now again, none of what I said is a call for a 100% ban on all types. Just better vetting. And even the AR15 inventor never intended for that to be used by civilians.

I do get tired of being falsely accused of wanting to become a 1 party fascist state. But if "sell more and do nothing" worked, we would not see the amount of gun violence we do. Our status quo is not working.

If guns don't kill people, people kill people, then I say we ban PEOPLE so the guns are safe. Who's with me?

I have no problem with crushing and melting down gun owning people to make their guns safe.   It ought to be agreeable to the gun owning people as well since they clearly love their guns more than people’s lives.

I'm more interested in something for home and personal defense. For close quarters and in narrow hallways something along the lines of the Taurus Judge or the S&W Governor is all that I'd need. Both guns shoot a variety of 410 shot gun shells as well as a 45 ca. bullet. Much more maneuverable for home defense than a 12 ga. shotgun or a rifle.

I really do not think the far right understand that they are literally projecting human rights on objects as if the object were human.

I am not kidding, the far right on firearms behave exactly like ISIS if you pick on the Koran.

They are not defending rights, they are not defending political pluralism, they are literally giving human rights to an object as if it were human.

Limit to bolt action does not limit capacity. Magazine capacity needs to be addressed just as much as (if not more than) semi-auto.

Are you also going to eliminate revolvers, pumps and levers?

With a true charger clip loaded, pull and twist bolt action rifle, the speed with which the magazine can be loaded with a charger clip and speed with which the action can be worked to fire successive rounds is sufficiently close such that magazine capacity doesn’t have too much impact on the number of aimed rounds it can put out per minute.

This becomes different with a self-loading rifle where the fireer doesn’t have to work any action and can fire as fast as he can pull the trigger. So for self-loading rifles, limiting magazine capacity makes a big difference in the effective rate of aimed fire. But For true bolt-action rifles not so much.

Good thing he wasn't driving at the time, or we would need to ban cars too.
