What other superstitions do you give credence to?
A boy from St Louis back in the 1950's was possessed after messing with a ouija board. The movie The Exorcist is loosely based off of that story. Since blindfolded experiments have proven the participants guide the ouija board selections does your St Louis boy prove humans choose or select demonic possession? In other words "pretend"?

LOL, you mean this hokum? Or is it malarkey? Maybe a spirit from beyond can assist me in keeping those straight.

Yep! I read the book, "Possessed" that tells the story. It's a great read, even if you don't believe any of it.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Don't confuse fictional family fun -especially "spook em" activities- with the real world. By all means, dive in and have a laugh or involve yourself enough to get a creepy sensation and then resurface for a good ol' breath of reality.

if it works it would do so via the influence of a Scripturally forbidden familiar spirit

Quote:Carvel.
Carvel is a particularly tasty brand of soft ice cream.
Coincidentally, given the other thread going on, I once went into a local Carvel store and had the guy write a special birthday cake for a buddy. It said
"Fuck You, Tony."
The guy took a picture of it for his scrap book... and this was back in the days when you had to use film!

Just had a go on a Ouija board just then. I just said fuck you devil.
It eventually responded with "I WILL KISS YOU!"
I'm laughing my head off and then it writes "FUCKING AUTOCORRECT"
Then I promptly stopped laughing and quickly packed it up!!!
OOPS!

My parents, myself and my sister made our own ouija board with cardboard, and we drew an arrow on a plate and moved the plate around (all of us)
we began asking questions like "What is your name?" and we got an answer that the name of the so called "spirit" we were talking to was Carvel.
We asked Carvel where he was from, and he said Qatar. We were laughing about this. However, at one point, my mom kind of jokingly asked, if I will ever get married. We received the answer yes. Then we asked where would my future wife be from, and we got Sweden as an answer. Then we asked about the name, and got the answer "Hilvy". At this point, we are laughing, as none of us had ever heard of that name before. We thought it wasn't a real name. Today I was bored and I just typed down "Hilvy" in google, and the first thing that came up was: "Swedish female name". I am surprised. I had no idea that the name existed, let alone that it was Swedish. What do you think happened here?

I think the instances where anything supernatural actually happens are probably very rare. But as small as the chances are, I still believe there is a chance that playing with one of those will open you up to the demonic, and I have no reason to take that risk.
